Zooey Deschanel Talking About New Girl Video at Paleyfest

Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. Is Zooey Deschanel a lot like her New Girl character Jess? The "adorkable" actress sets the record straight about how much her life really imitates her art in today's PopSugar Rush. "I put a lot of myself into this character but it's not me at all, I wouldn't say it's me at all, it's like a combo, me and Liz." Zooey Deschanel says that despite some major similarities, she's only partly like her popular New Girl character, which she believes was based on both herself and the show's creator Liz Merriweather. "I think of her as a 13 year old version of myself plus a 13 year old version of Liz." Zooey made the clarification while sitting on a panel at the annual Paleyfest in Beverly Hills Monday night, where our own Katie Henry caught up with the cast. "Hey guys it's Katie and tonight I'm covering the Paleyfest panel for New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel and a good looking group of guys." And the New Girl group was happy to gush to us about their leading lady Zooey. "She's one of those actresses who can phone it in and she doesn't and that's appreciated." "Aside from all the physical stuff, her eyes are very captivating, she's extremely charming and sweet and besides that she's extremely smart./She's always giving me financial advice, tells me to eat this eat that, it's great." "Just working with someone as talented as she is, you dream of being in this situation where you're working with people who continually make you better and she's just one of those people." "You know every day working along side her you learn so much because she has so much to do and she always has a smile on her face she's always there early, she'll always run lines with you, she's just a generous person... in this industry." Meanwhile, Zooey told us about her wish to work with sister Emily again, perhaps having her cameo on New Girl if she ever found time between being on Bones and being a mom. "I would love for her to but she has a baby and she works more than I do because those dramas take 8 days to shoot, I don't know when she would have time but I would love her to." A new episode of New Girl airs tonight at nine on Fox.
