Zach Galifianakis In Talks for Kind of a Funny Story
Zach Galifianakis Is Getting Serious

Zach Galifianakis has been something of a comedic go-to guy of '09 — from The Hangover, to his Funny or Die series "Between Two Ferns," to his HBO show Bored to Death which premieres this Sunday. (The latter is also free to download on iTunes if you're interested.) Though he's becoming a household name as a comedian, Galifianakis's next project may showcase a more serious side to the actor.
Galifianakis has been tapped for a new film from the same team that wrote and directed Half-Nelson. Titled It's Kind of a Funny Story, the movie follows a teenage boy with depression who is sent to an adult mental ward. Galifianakis would play one of the patients, and Emma Roberts is also in talks to join the cast.
More of Galifianakis is always a good thing, and I'm glad to see he's getting offers beyond the world of slapstick comedy. He's played it straight in the past, but I'll be interested to see how he fares now that his name is a box office draw.
