Will You Watch Dexter Edited for CBS?

As was speculated earlier, the Showtime series Dexter is heading to CBS to patch some holes left by the writers' strike. The first-season premiere will air Feb. 17 at 10 p.m., with the next 11 episodes from the first season filling that time slot for the following 11 weeks. It's the first time a full season of a cable series has been broadcast on network TV.

So here's my question: Will you watch an edited-for-network-TV version of the serial killer series? Or would you rather hold out for the real thing?

I've already watched the first and second season, and I will probably watch it again just for Michael C. Hall.

I am so happy it came to CBS, since I have never seen it on Showtime. I am a new fan now. So once it comes to DVD I want to watch it.

I'm not a huge fan of bloody stuff, so I'll be tuning into CBS to watch a "cleaned up" version that won't make me queasy! Can't wait to watch the show and know that I can keep my eyes open. :)

Other, I already seen Dexter on Showtime, my favorite show on TV. If I hadn't, I would rent it or buy it on DVD, I can't imagine this show edited. But my parents will watch it now..LOL!

I LOVE DEXTER! While I can't imagine how they'll edit it to fit with regular TV I'll probably still watch it just because I love it so much!

Yeah, the opening credits are freaking brilliant. I usually fast forward through that kind of stuff but not on Dexter! It's too cool!

I've already seen season one on DVD but I'd like to see how they can possibly edit this show and still maintain some of it's personality. I mean the opening credit sequence alone is pretty violent (and awesome).

i don't know - maybe. i've seen it on showtime now so i don't know if i could watch it edited. it's like sex and the city edited - it loses something

i think that's really great. this is how i got to watch Six Feet Under (and came to know Michael C. Hall in the first place) - Bravo aired edited versions of the show.

I have not seen it and be willing to watch the edited version. There has been so many good things written about it and I would like the chance to watch it.

I LOVE Dexter, I have already seen all of the episodes on SHO. The massive editing will probably ruin the show.

I haven't seen any of this show, but I have heard such great things. What will probably happen is, I will see it on CBS, and then I'll get hooked, and I'll rent the un-edited versions on DVD. That's what happened with Sex and the City when they started showing it on TBS, I had never had HBO, so that was my first exposure.

I've already seen the whole first season on iTunes but I'll probably tune in to the CBS version when there's nothing else on. I'll be interested to see what the edited version looks like.

I'm with Lisa....they seriously will have to edit out like 3/4 of the show :rotfl: I mean, the credits alone creep me out! Anyways, I can watch the most recent season On Demand and I have Season 1 on DVD so I'm good. 8)

I love Dexter and any opportunity to see Michael C. Hall in action, but I honestly don't know how the show can be edited for commercial broadcast. It definitely will not be the same!

I have already seen all of the Dexter shows and I can't imagine how it will be edited for CBS. It just won't be the same :(
