Are You Getting Spoiled More Easily These Days?

We've discussed spoilers around here before, both in talking about your spoiler policy and about unusual ways you've gotten spoiled about TV or movies. But these days, it seems like those "unusual" spoilers are becoming far more common. For example, I now avoid Facebook but also Twitter and sometimes even the BuzzSugar comments if I can't watch, say, American Idol exactly on time. I'm curious: Are you also running into spoilers everywhere? And has your policy on spoilers changed at all recently?

Yes! I've been complaining about this a lot lately. It's especially bad on EW.com and Watch With Kristin, where they put the spoilers in the headlines!!! I do admit I shouldn't visit WWK (though EW is supposed to be about all entertainment, and I MUST read Doc Jensen's Lost articles), but there are some shows I like to be spoiled about (Lost is NOT one of them). Either way, putting spoilers in headlines or pictures where they are unavoidable is just WRONG!

I don't have Tivo and watch some shows online, if I don't catch them at the regular time. CBS has a great habit of summarizing the entire episode beneath the video--which, by default is small. I feel like such a dork as I divert my eyes and move my internet window around, to obscure the predictable--yet minor--spoilers.

I manage to avoid them, even though you're right, Buzz--they are everywhere these days!

Yes, but a lot of times I look for them if it's not a mystery story. L&O you wanna figure stuff out for yourself but I don't mind finding out what's new with GG

I'm actually a spoiler-whore to begin with and the show that I gets spoilers for has kind-of been on lock-down so definitely not as many spoilers as before going through for that. :( I don't notice anything else, though.

yes - i think that there are more blogs out there now that have access to information that we never had before, and this is what's leading to spoilers. for example, the bachelor - we all knew what was going to happen weeks before the finale - that was kind of a buzz kill...i know that i didn't HAVE to read it but it's like a car accident - you can't help but to look.

i try to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but its hard to avoid the headlines!!

Yes, I sign off of Twitter, Facebook, and Buzz the minute American Idol starts on the East Coast. It's really hard to avoid them!

I expect it on media sites and will avoid comments and stuff if I really don't want to get spoiled, but facebook spoilers really tick me off.

I've cooled on reality shows in general lately -- except for Top Chef and, if it ever returns, Project Runway -- so my social networking habits have stayed the same.

I have been really into Grey's this season with Izzie being sick and all and now I just read in Entertainment Weekly that she doesn't die! I couldn't believe that they would mention that because I was intrested for the reason of finding out if she was going to make it or not!

Since I don't participate in Facebook, Twitter or Myspace, I guess I'm a little more immune to unusual spoilers than others. Plus, there's only one show (Lost) that I would really get upset if something were spoiled.So my answer is no, I'm not getting spoiled more easily.
