Are You Excited for the New 90210?

It's official: The 90210 spinoff — now known as simply 90210 — will be on our TVs this Fall. Jennie Garth is absolutely on board to reprise her role as Kelly Taylor, now a Beverly Hills High guidance counselor, confirming some buzz we heard a while back. And there are still rumors that Tori Spelling could join the show as well.

The news about this spinoff has been coming fast and furious from the moment it was announced, so now that we know so much about a show that hasn't aired even a single episode, I have to ask: Are you excited for 90210? Or are you sick of it already?

Not too sure yet, I wish they'd bring back Brenda but I have the feeling that's not going to happen :S

i was actually very upset that they were going to mess with the original 90210..I was a HUGE fan and the thought of them changing my opinion on the original just made me blah about the whole thing..but the more people they get to come back it starts to appeal to me a little more...

It went downhill after Brenda left and the last few seasons were downright unwatchable. It's still my favey show of all time, though.

i'm sure that i'll tune in for the first episode but i'm not sure after that. i grew up on the original and it's really hard sometimes to make a sequel/spin off to something that was so great. then again, towards the end of the show it was a bit dull....so i stopped watching until the LAST few episodes.

Now that Jennie is on board? HELL YEAH I'M EXCITED! She was my favorite along with Tiffini Amber Theisen. I don't get why everyone is so ga-ga about Brenda/Shannon. I liked her on Charmed, but hated her on 90210. Dylan too. In fact, the only characters I liked were Kelly, Valerie (omg I loved her as the uber bitch), Gina (Vanessa Marcil is a wonderful soapy-dramatic actress), Donna (only sometimes... she had her moments), Andrea (especially when she cheated on Jesse. I was like "Go get ya some girl!" ), and Janet. I sorta liked Claire but only at the very beginning when she was going after Brandon. And I only liked Brandon when he was with Kelly (which I know a lot of people still fuss over which couple was better... Dylan and Brenda or Dylan and Kelly, but Kelly and Brandon were freakin' super together!). Anyways... But I think they're going to do with Jennie what they did with Heather Locklear and just make her a "Guest Star". At least that's what USA Today said. But she's going to be the guideance counselor at West Beverly, so it'll probably be a recurring role. BRING BACK VALERIE AS THE PRINCIPAL! HA!

I never really watched 90210 when it came out (I was only 1 when it premiered) but it seems like a show I would like. But I don't have any personal ties to the original, so it doesn't bother me that they are doing a "remake."

i didnt grow up with the original so im holding my breath. and we probably wont get it down here in australia for another year or so - if it gets a following in the US of course.

I'll give it a try. I'm worried they'll re-write history, especially in the case of Kelly. Are we going to find out she and Dylan broke up, because I like the ending we had.

That was my guilty pleasure in high school. But I wasn't such a loyal viewer, I missed years in between and only watched the finale just for fun :D I wonder what the premise and the people in it, but yeah, I won't be holding my breath that this one is going to last.

Ah, that solves it, was too lazy to look it up. I think I was like 3 when the show started, but the first season came in late in the Phils and ended up watching it with my older sister back in 4th or 5th grade, I don't remember much/all of it, but I really did like Brenda's character and found that Kelly was too whiny.

No, I couldn't even stomach the original after Brenda left. And I was a teenager then. I'm in my 30's now so I really don't care.

Bisque, I'd maybe watch it if Shannen Doherty was on too...Brenda was by far my favorite character. And no, they didn't kill her character off. They just had her move to London, I believe.

I just wish they left it alone. For people who grew up watching this show and never missed an episode (like me), this new one will never have the same magic the original did. I think it's kind of neat that Jennie Garth is going to come back and do it...but I still don't think I'll watch it. I think it will just irritate me and I will constantly be comparing it to the original.

I feel like this is simply an attempt to capitalize on the success of The O.C., Gossip Girl, etc. and will do very little to satisfy original fans of the show so, no, not excited in the least.

Other. Like SATC, I've never seen an episode, have no desire to see one, and am really getting tired of the barrage of info about it. You can't turn on the TV or log onto the internet (sorry Buzz) without seeing it!
