Would Justin Timberlake Make a Good Oscar Host?

This just in from the Department of Crazy Rumors: Justin Timberlake is possibly being considered as a host for next year's Oscars. Who knows if it's true — but it's certainly interesting to contemplate. He got a lot of positive buzz off his ESPY award hosting gig this Summer, and I could see him having a good hosting personality.

Then again, the Oscars tend to go for folks with a strong background in comedy, which isn't exactly what Timberlake's best known for — and his movie career, while hardly hopeless, is still a little spotty. So, what do you think? Would Timberlake be a good choice?

He rocked the ESPYs, y'all clearly didn't see it. And Ellen sucked, she played it too safe. Bring back Billy Crystal or Jon Stewart.

In like 10 years, I would be all for it, but I think he needs a little more life experience to handle something like the Oscars.

Dear lord, are you kidding me? His head is already so over-inflated that there is no stopping his ego. If he hosts the Oscars and it gets a big audience which it probably will if Heath Ledger is nominated (which he should be-he was awesome in The Dark Knight) Simply amazing, but anyway, old J.T. will take all the credit. Ugh, go away.

let's see, um, JT, who has only been in ONE noteworthy movie, and his ROLE was not noteworthy, hasn't really done any acting other than SNL skits, should be the Oscar host? Can I have a HELL NO please? This would be like putting Mariah Carey in as the host. Bring Ellen back. At least she's got some acting experience.

nope - i don't think that he would be a good host. i can see why he would be considered to host maybe the VMAs or something like that - but the oscars? really? i think that it's not the right fit!

Oh, dear Lord, please let this be 100% untrue. I like the guy, love his music, hell I loved NSYNC, but seriously? I cannot STAND it when he talks and tries to be funny. He comes off as trying too hard and because he's from the Disney school of acting (which, honestly, only Ryan Gosling escaped unscathed...but that's another story) it just comes across to me as artificial. BLECH!
