The Worst-Reviewed Movies of 2014

Award season contenders, they ain't. Lots of movies fall flat every year, with some failing to make enough money to justify their production and others getting horrible reviews (which can often cause the crappy box office). We rounded up the movies that failed to even break 20 percent on the Tomatometer, Rotten Tomatoes' review aggregator, in 2014. Not all of these did so badly with audiences, though, and you never know — some of these movies could be appreciated in the future. How many of these did you see?

I, Frankenstein
Lionsgate

I, Frankenstein

Not even Aaron Eckhart's abs could save this gothic thriller, which was released in January (generally known as the worst time for movies).

I, Frankenstein
Vampire Academy
The Weinstein Company

Vampire Academy

Despite its big fan following, the box office take and the reviews of this adaptation were abysmal.

Vampire Academy
Left Behind
Stoney Lake Entertainment

Left Behind

Poor Nicolas Cage. This drama only eked out two percent on the Tomatometer.

A Haunted House 2
Open Road Films

A Haunted House 2

The scariest thing about this silly horror spoof is how poorly it was received.

Ride Along
Universal Pictures

Ride Along

Another movie that proved January is a cursed time to release a movie.

Ride Along
A Winter's Tale
Warner Bros.

A Winter's Tale

February is also bad — even if it's a Valentine's Day release.

A Winter's Tale
Blended
Warner Bros.

Blended

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler couldn't re-create the magic they've made on screen before with this limp family comedy.

Endless Love
Universal Pictures

Endless Love

This remake of a romantic drama had lots of kissing and even more cheesiness.

Endless Love
The Nut Job
The Weinstein Company

The Nut Job

Nuts: this animated film didn't get the praise of say, a Pixar film.

The Nut Job
The Legend of Hercules

The Legend of Hercules

As we have established, the greatest abs in all the land cannot save your movie. Not even Kellan Lutz's.

The Legend of Hercules
Devil's Due
20th Century Studios

Devil's Due

This horror movie was not quite the Rosemary's Baby for a new generation. The reviews were scary, though.

Devil's Due
Transcendence
Warner Bros.

Transcendence

Even with Christopher Nolan as an executive producer and Johnny Depp looking fairly normal for once, this sci-fi thriller was a bust.

Transcendence
And So It Goes
ASIG Productions

And So It Goes

The combined power of Diane Keaton and Michael Douglas sadly went nowhere for this comedy.
