If it's bad, it'll just be drawn that way: '80s animated/live action classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is getting a sequel, 21 years after its release.
The film's director, Bob Zemeckis, has confirmed that a Roger Rabbit sequel is moving forward, and the original screenwriters are working on a script. Zemeckis is looking forward to using digital tools to update this new installment, which makes me wonder just how different this movie will look from the 1988 original. There are also no details yet on the plot or which characters will be returning — though I assume that Roger and Jessica Rabbit will be back, not having aged a cartoon day.
I'm very curious about this project, considering that the original director and writer are on board, but I wonder if the same humor will hold up; it could either be a total disaster, or a modernized take on the movie. What do you think of this news?

This is just retarded, I loved who framed roger rabbit but I don't think they should do a sequel at all. Just leave it be.
1NO NO NO NO NO!!! Are there any original ideas in Hollywood right now? Remakes and retellings and sequels are everywhere!
2I love the original (or at least I did when I was a kid), but this is seriously unnecessary.
3The scene where the bad guy gets run over by a steam roller is the most terrifying memory I have as a child.
4I HATE the original.
5Myeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
6I'm excited!
7I loved the movie for a few years after 1st. seeing it... But when I rented it a few weeks back, I was left with a blah feeling. Why make a sequel so many years after the original tends to be forgotten? Wouldn't it have been better to do it within 5 years - 8 years at most! But too much time has passed for it to be interesting... Then again, maybe there will be a great script to make it worthwhile.

Why, oh, why! can't Hollywood can't come up with better *original* ideas?
I might be the only one but I am really excited about this!!!!
9I'm terribly excited about this. I loved that movie as a kid.
10I loved this movie, I am excited & terrified... time will tell how this goes.
11this movie scared the crap out of me when i was little!! especially where the bad guys put the "toons into that huge barrell of stuff....
12Hmmmm why can't they just release a 'special anniversary' dvd or something? I'm worried the sequel will drown out and ruin the original. At least the original writers are on board.
But what about Disney & Warner Bros? Are they coming back together again for the movie? Weren't there a lot of problems between them in the first movie? Like Disney demanding that their characters get equal screen time as Warner Bro. characters...
13I liked the first movie but the do NOT need to make a part 2.
14Gary K.Wolf - the author of the original story the film was based on , wrote a follow up novel , and it could easily be adapted. But without Bob Hoskins...why bother? 20 Years is a long gap between sequels!
15I'm more curious to know if Richard Williams is back or board with the animation :\ That's what helped DEFINE the film into what it was, without that aspect it wouldn't have floated as far.
16I really miss Roger and I hope this could mark the rebirth of the franchise.
17I love that movie:)
18Without Bob Hoskins there will be no magic.
