Welcome to Buzz's annual coverage of the Best of 2009! Over the next few weeks I'll be asking you about some of your favorites of the year in movies, music, and TV. To kick things off, I'm asking about 2009's best up-and-comer. We're talking about a fresh face who may be new to the scene (or under the radar for awhile), but really made his/her mark in the entertainment industry this year. Which up-and-comer of 2009 is your favorite?

I went with Lea Michele. She's just so talented and like Zivanod said, even if her tv/movie career doesn't last, I believe her career on broadway will be a long and successful one. Second is definitely Gabby, she's a great actress and she's so lovable in interviews!

I have to agree with #20 Gabby is so charming. I wasn't planning on seeing Precious, but after seeing her on the late night talk show circuit I really wanted to support the film. She's amazing and has the greatest sense of humor about all the celebrity and finally getting to meet her heros. Besides when an icon like Joan Collins gives someone the thumbs up you just have to take notice. She is also one of the few people on this list who I feel is a real up and comer. Everyone else has been working in the the industry for a while. My second choice would have to be Lea Michelle.

Taylor Lautner! Because he gave more to the stroy in New Moon, and has at least 2 movies in 2010 :)

Gabourey and Carey. Gabby is so charming and talented. Love her.

Should've included Taylor Momsen, she's a burgeoning style icon. I know people are bothered by her age, but her looks are so fabulous and effortlessly cool; and much better and age-authentic (if not appropriate) than any of the wardrobes of any other character on Gossip Girl. She's the new Lisa Bonet.

I would have to say Chris Pine. I think that Carey will be big too, but I think 2010 will actually be her year. I don't think a lot of people have heard of her yet.
