Who Are the Best Movie Girlfriends of 2009?

We've already talked about the best dude buddies of '09, but this year gave us several true-blue girlfriends, too (plus a BFF mother-daughter pair). While many have seen their share of drama (Jennifer’s Body, for instance?), we still had fun watching all of their relationships. So tell me, which of these ladies are your favorites?

'it's truly pathetic that roles in hollywood for women that don't involve being solely a love interest to a man are so scarce that a roundup of the year's best female friendships involves a pair in which one is a killer succubus, a mentally ill codependent mother-daughter relationship, and a pair of shallow self-involved frenemies who have a drag-out, hair-pulling wrestling match over their wedding date." What about Cher & Dionne from Clueless? Or the women of Sex and the City? Or Natalie Portman & Ashley Judd's characters from Where the Heart Is. I can think of a bunch more BFF's than the ones listed.

I haven't seen any of these movies so I really can't judge.. (though I want to see Whip It). But I just wanted to echo Deidre's pick! I so agree. :) I loved Jane and Lizzy. True sisterly love ftw.

Having read all 4 books I like the friendship with Bella and Alice I just don't think it gets as good until the next movie...therefore I didn't vote for them. Suze and Rebecca are adorable!

Ugh none of these. As for Alice and Bella- they had about 10 minutes screen time together in New Moon, How am I supposed to judge based on that?

I'm with lwimbush and amrita. I couldn't bring myself to watch any of these movies, quite honestly. Not knocking the people who like them (totally your choice!), but "girl flicks" have selddom ever done it for me. I don't buy most of the friendships. Give me Jane and Lizzy's comraderie in Pride and Prejudice anyday :)
