Part of the fun of watching reality TV is watching the judges bicker, tease each other, and occasionally fall all over themselves with praise for a contestant. Some shows pick their judges at the start of the show and never waver; others add guest judges into the mix; still others (say, American Idol) add new full-time judges to shake things up.
