All week I've given you galleries featuring the 2007 Oscar nominees for Best Costumes. From the realistic-looking clothes in The Queen to the glitter of Dreamgirls to the blinding beauty of Curse of the Golden Flower, the nominees really run the gamut. I thought both Dreamgirls and Marie Antoinette had AMAZING costumes!

I just saw Dreamgirls on Wednesday and I was shocked at how many costumes they had and how many "looks" from the 60s and 70s they incorporated. There were some absolutely awesome outfits in there.

The costumes in Dream Girls were so FAB, they really captured the essence of the 1960's-70's. The golden guy should hands down go to Dream Girls.

I just feel that historical, period pieces are much more demanding than slapping a bunch of trendy stuff together, although I know that some things were designed just for the Prada movie. I say "Marie Antoinette."

I totally agree, DCStar, it's like, the clothes in DWP were probably from great designers, but they're downright boring in comparison to Curse of the Golden Flower (have you seen those?! They're really intricate and beautiful) or Marie Antoinette.

NOT the devil wears prada. That movie had very cool outfits, but really, quite unimaginative. They had a giant closet full of designers which they flaunted gaudily. The other movies were actually DESIGNED, THEMED costumes.

I love the clothes in 'The Devil Wears Prada', but I don't think they deserve a Best Costume Oscar. My vote is for 'Marie Antoinette.' The costumes were fantastic.
