Which Movie Romance Is the Best of 2009?

You guys already weighed in on the couple with the hottest sexual tension on TV but now let's take it to the big leagues — love on film. Some couples were built to last while others fizzled, but there's no denying that 2009 brought a new batch of romances that made our hearts swell. Which is your favorite of 2009?

i voted for new moon because that movie is really interesting...it really is the best movie of 2009 if you look at the rating...stephenie meyer is really creative...who would have ever thought of a vampire and a human dating, getting married, and haveing a half vampire half human baby. excellent work for the producers of the movie...i really enjoyed watching the movie both twilight and new moon...cant wait for eclipse and breaking dawn to come out...hopefully those movies will make it into the best romance movie of 2010 and 2011. p.s. EDWARD CULLEN IS SO....................... SEXY...............HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont care what people said about rob and kristen but im sorry that those people fell that way for them but i loved them sooooooo....my vote ofcourse all the way new moon...

Also, I don't think you should have to "read the books!!" to see the merit of an on-screen couple. The movie should stand on its own and the actors should portray the relationship believably and with passion and honesty to deserve the title of best of 2009. You shouldn't have to go back to the book for evidence that the couple is hot - we're basing this on the movie, not the books, first of all, and second, I'd think on screen is where the couple would be steamiest. The fact that you're telling people to read the books as proof of Edward and Bella's passion proves only one thing: that the actors aren't doing their job. Robert Pattinson is stiff as a board, totally unbelievable and without a drop of actual heat, and Kristen Stewart is weak and tepid, she's very much acting and pretending and not actually believing in the role or anything that she's saying, and so her performance falls flat.

The reason people adore Bella and Edward is they're idiots and they believe everything the media tells them. Example: everyone thinking Robert Pattinson is gorgeous, because the media tells them he is. HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY LOOKED AT THE GUY??? He's hideous. And don't even get me started on the books, they are so terribly written it actually hurts.

Bella and Edward. READ THE BOOKS ! These other couples have nothing on them. THERES REASONS WHY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ADORE EDWARD AND BELLA IF YOU DON'T GET IT YOU MIGHT AS WELL GET USE TO IT !

Oh god so something is ubber popular and it gets a vote regardless of how bad it was. NM was horrible and the acting with Rob and Kristen went down the drain the minute they started dating. You can tell how self conscious they are around each other and it just affected their line delivery, the kissing scenes, the facial expressions!

stop putting anything twilight related on polls. its obviously going to win when there are so many more worthy. such as 500 days of summer. or even the proposal.

For me the best were 500 Days of Summer and Away We Go. I was going to vote for Away We Go because I think it's a great portrayal of a realistic yet happy long term relationship, but then I couldn't resist voting for 500 Days of Summer. It hits close to home, we've all been Tom or Summer at some point in our lives...

Time Traveler's Wife. Such a good book. The movie was alright, and I love Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. Second is the Proposal (though it was more comedy than romance).

of course i'm saying new moon since i'm so fanatical about the franchise, but if they weren't in the running, i'm sure that i would have happily (and easily) found another duo

I voted for Away We Go because I felt that the relationship was really well written and wonderfully acted, it was very realistic and touching. Why do we even have these "best of" surveys that include anything Twilight-related, when obviously all Twilight stuff will win, since the Twitards will vote for any Twilight entry, regardless of its merit. We should have surveys like this: "other than Twilight (which is the best ever OMG! I heart Edward!!), what was the best [fill in the blank] of 2009?"
