Movie trailers seem to be coming out earlier and earlier these days, so we've already gotten a peek at many of the exciting upcoming 2009 movies, like Confessions of a Shopaholic (Feb. 13), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (May 1) and Star Trek (May 8 ).

Person who said some films have already had bad reviews...If we all listened to the critics, no one would have seen Mamma Mia and missed out on the fun. No one would have watched Quantum of Solace or Twilight. And if we listened to the critics, a load of movies which were really successful wouldn't have done well at all. Some movies are critic free. Some movies cannot be touched by critics. We've learned this already in the UK. If I want to see a movie I'm going to see it regardless of what the 'critics' say. Besides all the movies they say are good are usually boring snorefests designed for Oscar glory but not much else. They know naff all about what audiences want.

It's a tossup between Harry Potter and Coraline. I'll see them both :)

In 2.5 days I have read the first two of the 4 Stephenie Meyer books. I can't put the books down at all. Well, New Moon dragged in the middle, but completely redeemed itself. I am looking forward to subsequent movies. I am also looking forward to seeing, "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell" which is not on your list. The book of the same title is written by Tucker Max and it has been on the NYT's Best Seller List plenty of times. His stories make me laugh out loud, literally. These are all consenting women who know what Tucker's MO is. I wish I had time to write a review, but you should definitely check out the book. There were times I laughed so hard I had tears coming down my face.

X-Men Origins - Wolverine. I love Liev Schreiber (Sabertooth) and Daniel Henney (who plays Agent Zero) is one of the most handsome men I've ever seen.

shopaholic, new moon, harry potter.... I'll have to vote three times...i really want to watch confessions of a shopaholic, but i'm like addicted to twilight and i love harry potter so...but i think new moon is gonna be great ....

HARRY POTTER! I'm also excited to see Public Enemies (two of my favorite actors, Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, are in it), The Ugly Truth, Up!, The Time Traveler's Wife, and New Moon.

No TRansformers 2? Astroboy I wonna see. Depp and Bale's Public Enemies have already bad early screenings and reviews. I admit Im dying for New Moon and sorry to say Terminator is not the same without Arnold and James Cameron. Charlies Angels director McG? yikes.

I'm still annoyed that the Harry Potter release has been moved to 2009. I should have seen it already!! I vote Half Blood Prince! Harry Potter beats the crap writing of Twilight any day. Any. Day.

UP (Disney Pixar animation that looks great) Angels and Demons (the book is brilliant, saw the trailer at the cinema) Transformers 2 (if its anything like the first it'll be amazing again) Public Enemies (Christian Bale AND Johnny Depp?! Since I couldn't pick more than one:Harry Potter, Coraline, The Soloist (which more people should be excited to see, it looks stunning!), Coraline, New York I Love You, and The Time Traveler's Wife. It's going to be a good movie year.
