The 10 Actors Wes Anderson Uses the Most

Mar 4 2014 - 4:37pm

Lots of directors have a particular actor [1] they work with a lot, but Wes Anderson has a whole stable of them. Bill Murray [2] has played a professor and an underseas explorer, Luke Wilson [3] has been a tennis pro and an OR doctor, and Jason Schwartzman [4] has portrayed a lovesick teen and a scout master. In celebration of the upcoming release of The Grand Budapest Hotel [5], we're looking back at all the familiar faces from the director's movies.

Bill Murray

With seven film collaborations, Murray and Anderson are one of the greatest actor-director teams [9] in Hollywood. Starting with Rushmore, Murray has had parts in The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom. Plus, we get to see him again in The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Owen Wilson

Behind Bill Murray [13], Wilson is the runner-up for most collaborations with the director. The two met in college and cowrote Bottle Rocket, which was also Wilson's first film role ever. Since then, he's had parts in The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
