Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones hopped on set to start filming their new sitcom last week, and it looks like it was just in time! The first ad for the new show, now called Parks and Recreation, aired during the special post-Super Bowl episode of The Office last night.
The short promo shows Poehler as Leslie Knope, a parks committee member from Pawnee, Indiana, wandering around an abandoned pit and picking up trash while talking about her vow to turn it into a lovely park. Things get a little dicey, however, when she finds a particularly unappetizing specimen.
I have to say, I'm not in love with the name Parks and Recreation — can you really hear anyone saying, "Nah, I gotta stay in tonight and watch the new Parks and Recreation"? I might have preferred the previous rumored title — Public Service — but as NBC's Ben Silverman told the New York Times, they didn't "want to seem mean" about making fun of public service. Eh, OK. To check out the promo, just read more.

This makes me love living in Indiana more
1She is so incredibly overrated. she doesn't act, she just reads lines. All her impressions sound exactly the same, they are just her. But, that seems to be all that is expected from actors and actresses these days. Let's see the Johnny Depps' and others who actually play a part, not just memorize lines. There are no standards anymore.
2Parks and Recreation doesn't do it for me as a title. Hope the show is better than its name.
3Looks awesome. Can't wait.
4I can't wait to check it out either...I like both of these ladies.
5I think she's hilarious at the things she does, regardless of whether it is the same thing or not, and I will give this show a chance.
6I love her
Can't wait for the show!
7I agree with Great Sommelier although I do think she's funny sometimes. I don't watch The Office, so I'm not sure if I will dig this.
8Buzz, I thought the same thing about the name! They can't even shorten it to "PR" because of Project Runway. Glad I'm not the only marketing nerd out there:)
9i'll be shortening it to Parks & Rec
10hmm it doesn't look that great but hopefully the first episode will change my mind
11Oooh, I like carak's title! I didn't like Public Service because it sounded like working for the federal government.
12I don't like the title but I will probably give the show a chance because I love Amy.
