Maya and Christina said they're excited to explore the new chapters in Ava and Reagan's lives now that they're both unemployed.

"I think that we realized that this character that we created is really fun when she's trying to look at her own life and figure stuff out," Maya said. "Her closest friend really has a family in place, and things are looking good for her, and I think she's starting to look at her own life and say, 'What do I have and what do I want?' which she probably didn't put first because she probably put career first."

Christina echoed that sentiment. "We always felt that these characters were at their best when they were kind of away from [the Ava show] hallways," she said. "[It] just felt sometimes like a vortex in there."
