Tyra Banks is heading to the Upper East Side, booking a guest-starring gig on the fourth episode of the season. And the fierce America's Next Top Model hostess isn't playing herself: She'll play an actress who co-stars in a movie alongside Hilary Duff's NYU student/movie star and will appear in the fourth episode of the season.

Though Tyra's on TV on a daily basis, it's been a long time since she had a straight-up acting gig. The most recent was on American Dreams back in 2004, though she also has credentials from Felicity, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and — of course — Coyote Ugly. So I'm wondering: Do you think Tyra should be taking acting gigs? Or are the hosting and producing roles more up her alley?

No, it's not that she's a bad actress but she's not as good as more experienced ones

I think she's a character in herself. I just couldn't take her seriously in any role other than Tyra.

Leslie, she was in Higher Learning as Deja. Great film, but sadly not in large circulation. She's more of a personality than an actress, but she can act. Give her a chance, I think Tyra really steps up when given a challenge.

I really love Tyra Banks and her personality. She should stick to hosting and producing, she has a real vision for that sort of thing and maybe not so much for acting.

I have to agree with kea718. I can't stand Tyra, she is the main reason I can't watch the Top Model show. She is so annoying, arrogant and just so full of herself.

what the hell is going on with this show? I mean; it was already cheesy enough, but what do they think putting even more terrible actors will do? Hilary Duff is an atrociously bad actress; I mean, it's almost impressive how bad she is; and now Tyra?! it's getting to a point of ridiculousness. on a separate note, I love how there is no need to even say what show is being discussed. and finally, fashionplate, Audrina may have gotten a movie by sleeping with God knows whom, but it doesn't mean it or she was any good. seriously; I saw a very short clip of it on The Soup and OH MY GOODNESS she is just awful. a child can speak more convincingly than she can...

I said she should stick to hosting.... but, there should be a "she needs to go AWAY... FOREVER" choice. I can't stand her. I guess at least if she's acting we don't have to be forced to listen to her talking about herself.....

Her personality in her "reality shows" is so obnoxious, I only hope that her acting makes her more likeable.

Hearing that she's going to be on that episode makes me less excited for it. I'm assuming that's not a good thing. I like the cast they had the majority of them were unknown when they started and i think that's part of what made me love the show. I didn't have preconceptions of the actors before hand.

I feel that I need to confess this: I love that movie that she's in with L. Lo, Life Size. It's not a good movie at all but...it's so good.

I'm going to have to wait to see the finished project but unfortunately I voted no. I'm still very worried of what Hilary will bring to the show, and now Tyra. It just seems like they would be out of place and that the show will become a silly, silly mess. Hopefully I'm wrong
