i'm not at all surprised that the movie did so well - although i have to say that i went to see it and it was PAINFUL. they could have cut a good hour out of the movie and you wouldn't have missed A THING.
when i went to the midnight show there were atleast 6 theaters packed, i've never been to a midnight show that packed
ilanac13, I totally agree, it was a LONG movie. In the end, I wanted to say "Michael Bay, can you add any more explosions???"
i didnt want it to end... awesome movie..
comparing the five-day between dark knight and transformers 2 isn't a very good way to look at it. the dark knight opened on a friday (fri-tue) and transformers 2 opened on a wednesday, which inflates its numbers more because there are more movie-going days (wed-sun). a better comparison will be the nine-day, which the dark knight will win easily simply because it was a better film.
