Movie Preview: The Strangers

I'm currently working on my full review of The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman but I'll go ahead and tell you now: it's so scary! I'm posting the full trailer here today to get you scary movie fans pumped up, and to remind you that there are some cool, smaller movies making their way into theaters nowadays besides the big blockbusters.

But OMG I cannot even watch this trailer! That's how not recovered I am from the screening. Anyway, after the jump check out the trailer and tell me: does this look terrifying? Or tame?

I can't WAIT to see this. FINALLY a truly, decently scary movie to hit the cinemas. I saw the trailer before Wanted the other day and it freaked the s**t out of me.

I have to keep myself away from scary movies, even the tame/lame ones because I get so freaked out by them... so I'll definitely pass on this one. But, the trailer looks like it's going to be a good movie for people who love these kinds of movies!

I have to close my eyes during the commercial... so... Yeah. Those sewn-together face masks freak me out. The ad was on last night during lost, and I had to clean up quickly and run upstairs. I know, I know, I'm a scardy cat.

i'm sorry, i'm not trying to bring anyone down, but ive seen all the previews, and this thing doesnt look scary at all! and i'm scared of gnats! you guys really think this is so terrifying? I mean, i'd never imagine seeing it in theaters, i'm not a scary movie person, but honestly, it doesnt look that bad.

Y'know, I laughed at this preview more or less and THEN I look up and see that masked face in the movie still w hich I missed before. DAYUM. I'm not going to see it. I don't do well with horrors.

Ive seen the trailer on TV so i'm not going to watch it again. The first time I saw it I was scared! Afterwards I had to change the channel everytime I saw it. This trailer is interesting though because I think in the beginning the aired trailer was longer, almost a mini movie. I thought it was a commercial because it seemed pleasant. Then I was suddenly terrified. I recently had a break in while I was home so there is no way i'm going to see this movie anytime soon.

Meh, I saw the trailer, honestly, me and my friends laughed at it. Especially the scene where the masked face is showing in the dark while liv tyler looks on unaware. It's just... not that special for me.

The first time I caught this trailer was when I was lying in bed before I went to sleep... ....& then I couldn't go to sleep. lol I'm definitely seeing it!

I think I read somewhere that the "inspired by true events" part had something to do with the director being inspired by events that were part of the 1969 Manson murders/helter skelter time in history. This trailer absolutely TERRIFIES me...I don't think I can ever watch this movie...I think it would scare me so badly, I'd have nightmares for a month. Seriously. I love Liv, but I think I'm going to have to pass.

chiquita25 - The "true story" part is strange and irrelevant to the story in my opinion. Not sure why they harp on that so much other than drumming up even more intrigue.
