By now, George Clooney can practically do the whole lone tough guy shtick with his eyes closed, and he'll get the opportunity once again in The American. In the upcoming film, he plays a hitman who travels overseas to Italy for one final assignment and, of course, beds a woman or two along the way (Clooney sex scenes, huzzah!). But, of course, there's always a twist. In this just-released trailer, it appears that the assassin may be in a bit of trouble after all. Good thing he has a priest in his corner if he needs his last rites.

Clooney is looking pretty James Bond-esque in this footage, but I question how much longer he's going to do these roles. The film comes to theaters in September, but take a look, and tell me if you're digging it when you read more.
