- I am always excited to read about a new Burton film; the films are off-the-wall yet still contains a certain charm that lures me to watch time after time. I still hope that Burton will take on the "1984" project and properly bring the book's tale to the screen. - In my opinion, no modern remake will compare to the original goodness that is "Ferris Bueller..." and "Sixteen Candles." Same goes for Hughes' other classics; which I can watch anytime, year after year, and still thoroughly enjoy. The chemistry with the cast and the overall vibe cannot be recreated. The feeling of the an 80's film is also a type of added charm. A few others I would dislike seeing remade: "Beetle Juice", "Raising Arizona", "Tootsie" (among a list.) However as much as I like the original "Fright Night", I am excited to see what comes from the current remake. Colin Farrell as Jerry, Mintz-Plasse as Evil Ed, David Tennant as Peter Vincent... hopefully the film will be as good, interesting as the cast choice.
