Returning for the sequel Josh Hutcherson shares the big screen with newcomers to the franchise Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vanessa Hudgens. I sat down with Dwayne at a recent press day in Honolulu where he shared what it was like shooting on location in Hawaii, where he grew up, and how he mesmerizes ladies with his rock solid pecs. Vanessa Hudgens only had eyes for boyfriend Austin Butler on the carpet at last night's LA premiere of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. They were joined at the event by her costars Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and a Monique Lhuillier-clad Kristin Davis at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Rachel McAdams doesn't have a role in the film, but her The Vow is coming out soon. She donned a gorgeous Peter Som dress and shirt for the occasion, and later attended the afterparty at The Colony nightclub to pose for pictures with High School Musical buds Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa. The screening was held a week before the movie arrives in theaters next Friday, Feb. 10. The cast has spent a great deal of time together recently. Vanessa, Josh, and the gang were just in Hawaii for a press junket — stay tuned for our chat with them! There were hours free from press duties, though, and Vanessa Hudgens slipped into a bikini for some beach fun with Austin.
As the new national ambassador for the Diabetes Aware campaign, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson says,
"Get outside. Play a game. Do something active together. We can make a difference in our own families through exercise, eating right, and teaching healthy behaviors to our children."
Past ambassadors include Halle Berry, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Dustin Hoffman, so hopefully The Rock can continue to raise awareness about reducing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by living a healthy lifestyle. Diabetes Aware helps educate folks on type 1 diabetes as well.

In case you missed it, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson beautifully (and I mean, beautifully) hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend for his third time. I thought he did a great job — from his Barack Obama impression ("The Rock Obama") to his role as a bitter Hawaiian restaurant performer, I have to admit, I really enjoyed his time on the show.
Hands down, though, my favorite part of the episode (which, to be honest, I rewound and watched at least three more times on TV) was Johnson's musical number during his monologue. It's his way of proving that Hollywood hasn't made him fancy or soft — he's still tough! Tough enough for a skimpy sequined vest over a bare chest. That's what I'm talkin' about.

From WWE to playing the fictional winged character that rewards children for losing their teeth, Dwayne Johnson is having quite the career. I originally thought this was a joke but . . . it's not. It's just not. Variety is reporting that "Dwayne Johnson will star as the title character in The Tooth Fairy."
Did you know there's a tooth fairy kingdom? Well, there is! And Johnson is just the man to "try and save the tooth fairy kingdom." But from what? Who could be threatening the tooth fairy kingdom? Oh, the drama.

The Farrelly Brothers and Ben Stiller are left broken hearted today after their bawdy comedy The Heartbreak Kid failed to draw in the masses at the theaters. Taking home just $14 million its opening weekend, The Heartbreak Kid came in second place at the box office, behind the family friendly Game Plan starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The Game Plan is enjoying its second weekend of being No. 1 at the box office after its successful opening weekend.
The Kingdom continued to do well with action flick fans, coming in third place with $9.3 million. Resident Evil: Extinction came in fourth place with newcomer The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising following up in No. 5. The George Clooney legal thriller Michael Clayton didn't thrill a whole lot of moviegoers; the movie came in twenty-first place with $704,000 for the weekend.
