TV Tonight: "Grey's Anatomy"

ABC initially planned to take a week off between new episodes of "Grey's Anatomy," but I'm glad those plans changed: I'm not sure I could handle waiting around to see the aftermath of the George and Izzie hookup. Now, I know I said last week that I was glad to see "Grey's" return to being more light-hearted, but the preview for tonight's episode seems a little too "wow, infidelity's hilarious!" for my taste. Still, my faith in the show hasn't been completely destroyed ... yet. To see the promo, read more

I agree- I saw one preview where Callie was giving George this "oh you silly boys" look, and I thought, yeah, right, that's an appopriate reaction. Of course it could have been totally out of context, but still.

you know.. they were doing so good! it was by far the best show on, and then they ferry crap happend and it's turned out like this. Shondra and whoever else particpates in the writing seriously has blown it..

it has lost its intelligence

I agree with phatE. This show used to be smart and whenever it got a bit soap-opery it did it in a cheeky way. Now sadly its just become cliche and over the top. Ugly Betty is my new favorite Thursday show- it has fun with the soap opera-esqe storylines and situations and doesn't take itself too seriously like Grey's has started to do.

Grey's really has lost its edge. The ferry boat episodes did nothing for me; since those three shows, the writing seems to have gone downhill quickly. They can't seem to find focus or purpose; maybe they're looking too far ahead to the spin off and not paying attention to character development and story lines that used to make Grey's work so well (I really miss Bailey's quick wit and sharp tongue.) Yet, I keep watching, hoping that it will get better. After seeing tonight's preview, my hopes may be set to high. Thanks for the head's up about tonight's show, Buzz. I was preparing for another rerun.

Um, the ferry boat episodes were good until the last one... it was like letting air out of a balloon. Such a let-down. And now, they're screwing up all the core relationships in the show, which is my opinion, is the show. Get your shit together, Shonda Rhimes.

I read that the ferry boat thing was supposed to be just one ep, but the only way abc would approve the budget they needed for it was for shonda to make it a 3 parter. Hopefully ABC will STOP butting in and grey's will get back to what its been in the past
I agree with Mallomar. LOVE me some Ugly Betty. It never fails to make me laugh. It's just convenient for me to stay on the couch and continue watching ABC after Betty; that's probably the only reason I still watch Grey's.

grey's is still my favorite show, but i think they writers are just trying to hard. they've already done some pretty crazy stuff and if they keep trying to top whats already happened it will become to soap opera.

I don't really know about Grey's anymore. I am sooo turned off to the show right now.
Okay I was just reading another blog about last week's episode and someone pointed out that if Callie is soooo rich, then why was she living in the basement of the hospital?

LaLaLaurie, I actually was listening to the Grey's podcast on the way to work this morning, and the writer said she thought Callie would live in the basement because she's so uncomfortable with money that she'd go to great lengths to pretend she didn't have any. I'm not sure I buy it, but it's an interesting thought ... I never really liked the whole living-in-the-basement plotline anyway.
