TV Preview: "Armed and Famous"

The founders of CBS — once called the Tiffany Network because of its classy programming — must have rolled in their graves when "Armed and Famous" got the green light. Nothing about this show — in which Eric Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Jack Osborne, and other D-listers get shipped off to Muncie, Ind., to train as police officers — is even in the same Zip code as classy.

The show, which premieres tonight at 8 p.m., has also attracted its share of controversy. Muncie's local paper found out that producers were paying suspects to appear on TV. And not everyone in Muncie was exactly thrilled to learn that the cop pulling them over might be Wee Man.

"Armed and Famous" just sounds awful all around. Then again, there is something pretty special about a video clip in which La Toya — who recently delivered a baby on the side of the road — and the other "cops" get Tasered and former "CHiPs" star Estrada talks about his testicles.
