It's official: Southland is saved! TNT issued a press release this morning announcing that the cable network is resuscitating the cancelled NBC cop drama starting in January.
While this is obviously good news for Benjamin McKenzie fans, I'm still approaching it with moderate skepticism. The series may be alive and kicking, but if the numbers from other swapped shows are any indication, Southland may be in for a struggle. Take, Project Runway: After moving from Bravo to Lifetime, it took off like ratings gangbusters, but has since faced a decline. Or there's my favorite old-school example: Roswell. It used to air on the WB (in its pre-CW days), but after it failed there, it got bounced around to UPN — where it was cancelled again.
Obviously some viewers drop off when a show changes channels, but what about you — do you still follow TV shows when they go under a new network? Or do you lose interest?

I will watch this one! SO glad it got picked up
1I have continued watching ProjRun on lifetime and appreciate that they haven't really changed anything (except the filming location meaning Michael Kors isn't there very much : ( )
2I would have thought yes I do- but as soon as Project Runway left Bravo, I havent watched a single episode- interestingly enough
3I'll definitely watch Southland wherever it airs.
4I think this show in particular will do better on TNT, it's much more suited for that station anyways not to mention the channel always repeats shows so whoever doesn't watch the first time around can always catch up pretty easily.
5you need a middle ground answer --- I watched Project Runway when it switched, but this season was boring so I lost interest. it really depends on the show
6I dropped off ProjRun halfway through this season and FNL is awesome, but sometimes I forget about it. So, definitely.
7Yes, followed Buffy and L&O: Criminal Intent. As long as I get the station it's cool
8I followed Scrubs and Project Runway. But I'm annoyed at Lifetime for handing over the reigns to the producers of the Real World (for realsies, we get it...everyone wants Logan) and moving it to LA so we don't have Nina and Michael as much. I also followed Scrubs which actually had a better "last" season on ABC than the last on NBC.
9I follow Medium still.. and I watched Roswell & Buffy when they switched networks
10I will watch Southland on any channel!! I am so happy it was picked up!!
11I would definitely follow a show to another network. I followed Buffy and Roswell.
12I will follow my favorite shows wherever they go.
13Kinda wishing ABC could've arranged a deal for Pushing Daisies to live on elsewhere... oh well.
I think this network-jump also applies to Friday Night Lights' movie to DirecTV - I thank the TV gods everyday that we got 3 more seasons of FNL as a result
I followed Project Runway to its new network but dropped midway because it's so boring and the designers are just okay, there's no fierce competition like other season, plus I didn't like the fact that they changed judges every episodes. I will definitely watch Southland when it air in TNT.
