Montreal's Young Galaxy couldn't be more aptly named. Founded by Stephen Ramsay, a former touring guitarist with fellow Canadian band Stars, and his girlfriend, Catherine McCandless, the band's spaced-out, shoegazey rock harnesses all of the mystery and madness of youthful lust and romance.
The couple just released its self-titled debut album on Arts&Crafts, offering a selection of songs that are alternately transcendent and too terrestrial. But frankly, I am obsessed with this beautiful, echo-y ballad "Swing Your Heartache," which has a slight gospel edge thanks to its quivering organ.
