Song of the Day: Rilo Kiley, "Silver Lining"

Is it just me, or does Jenny Lewis's voice get more amazing with every passing song? Her performance on "Silver Lining," as well as the just-released album art, are getting me very excited about the new Rilo Kiley album, Under the Blacklight, coming out on Aug. 21. You can listen to the new track now exclusively on Stereogum.

Though the heavy porn-music vibe of "The Moneymaker" is slowly growing on me, I'm really loving "Silver Lining," which is both sophisticated and pop-drenched. I love the gospel backing vocals and a fun, flitting guitar riff. Listen and tell me what you think.

While not too impressed with this song, (I liked "The Moneymaker" better yet I have no idea why) I know that I'll buy the album and most likely over play it in my car until all of my friends want to strangle me. The things I do for Jenny Lewis... Ooooh!

i'm so glad you love rilo kiley, too Buzz - i love seeing all the rilo-kiley related stuff you post! This song is different from the moneymaker one for sure but equally catchy and well-sung.
