After spending some time with Arcade Fire's new album, Neon Bible, I was struck by the sinister air of "(Antichrist Television Blues)" — easily one of the most infiltrating melodies on the CD. I was even more intrigued when I heard rumors that the song was about Joe Simpson, daddy to Jessica and Ashlee and one of the world's creepiest stage parents.

Listening to the lyrics only reinforced my suspicions, as did a few comments from Win Butler, the band's lead singer. During a Feb 13 concert in New York, Butler reportedly prefaced the song by saying it was about fathers who grow up to manage their daughters, while one blogger says that the song's alternate title is "Joe Simpson."
