Song of the Day: Apostle of Hustle, "National Anthem of Nowhere"

Andrew Whiteman is part of the extensive Canadian revolving rock collective Broken Social Scene, but his Apostle of Hustle project, founded in 2001, stands on its own merits, with driving rock guitars and gentle, Latin influences. On "National Anthem of Nowhere," from the upcoming album of the same name, Whiteman saves the tropical flavor for an explosion of brass in the closing minutes. That and the acrobatic guitar work should sustain me until the album comes out March 6. (Thanks to Stereogum for posting the track!)
