The Social Network Trailer: Mark Zuckerberg Gets De-Friended

17

The Social Network, David Fincher's dramatization of the rise of Facebook, has spawned a couple of teaser trailers, but today we finally get to see footage — and it looks pretty great. I'm most encouraged by the acting on the part of Jesse Eisenberg as founder Mark Zuckerberg, as well as newcomer Andrew Garfield (aka the new Spider-Man) as cofounder Eduardo Saverin.

This preview gives more insight into Zuckerberg's portrayal as a villain — the book that the movie is based on implies that his whole concept of Facebook was simply a tool to get him more friends and respect, and not just the virtual kind. Now that I've seen more, I'm very excited for this movie; it might be all the supporting players (including Rashida Jones and Justin Timberlake), but some of the credit definitely goes to the brilliant usage of the cover of Radiohead's "Creep."
