"So You Think You Can Dance": The Top 20 Compete

This week's Top 20 competition show was a perfect example of why I love "So You Think You Can Dance." Though some of the competition's 10 couples were stronger than others, all of them were downright entertaining. The choreography was diverse, the dance styles were wildly different, and I loved getting to see most of the contestants' personalities for the first time.

While everyone was good, there were a few clear standouts — and I'd put Sara and Jesus (above) at the top of my list. Their pop-jazz vagabond routine was hilarious and high-energy, and I never would have known that Sara was dancing outside of her B-girl comfort zone. Lacey and Kameron attacked some scary Mia Michaels choreography that gave me chills, and I couldn't stop smiling at Jimmy and Shauna's Broadway routine. Personality-wise, though, I have to root for Lauren and Neil, who didn't have the greatest on-stage chemistry but hammed it up in their interview.

On the less-awesome side, I'd guess Rickey and Ashlee should be worried about tonight's results. I thought the couples were paired to avoid the awkwardness of a really tall girl with a shorter guy, but apparently not; these two looked fairly ridiculous dancing together, and their tango completely lacked heat. Faina also seemed to struggle with her hip-hop routine, and I wasn't crazy about Dominic and Sabra's disco.
