No One on Game of Thrones Has a Worse Love Life Than Sansa Stark

We're used to watching our favorite Game of Thrones characters being tormented and tortured, but sometimes it's just way too much. Like this season, Sansa Stark — she of the most maligned family in Westeros — seems like she's finally getting somewhere with her revenge plot against the Boltons. Unfortunately, that feeling of dread you had when Littlefinger first suggests she marry the sadistic Ramsay Bolton is totally validated when he brutally takes her virginity, in front of Theon, no less. This isn't the first time Sansa has been part of the worst couple in the Seven Kingdoms, though. The poor girl has been either engaged to the worst person ever, been taken advantage of, or been married off as a pawn against her will. And you thought your dating life was tough.

First, She's Engaged to Joffrey

Sansa's not totally blameless for her engagement to Joffrey — she's totally smitten with him when the young Prince first comes to Winterfell and ecstatic when their union is approved. But Joffrey's true colors come out immediately, and by the time her father's head is on a spike (and she's forced to look at it), she knows what a terrible, terrible mistake she has made. Luckily, Margaery is more ambitious than she and graciously takes the evil young king off her hands. If only that was the end of Sansa's troubles.

Then She's Forced to Marry Tyrion

Poor young Sansa can't seem to escape the Lannisters. She just wants to be free, and Tyrion of course is in love with someone else at the time, leaving them both miserable. At least she got the best Lannister to align with, and he leaves her alone — the greatest wedding gift he could have given her.

She Has the Creepiest Admirer in Littlefinger

Baelish's obsession with Sansa's mother, Cat, has just been transferred onto Sansa, despite their age difference and her total disinterest in him. Though Baelish has once or twice helped Sansa, he is mostly just accomplished at giving her unwelcome kisses and selling her out when convenient.

And Now, the Worst Has Happened

Sansa's marriage to Ramsay comes from a plot concocted by Littlefinger to avenge her family, but so far the only person who's suffering is Sansa. Oh, and Theon. The wedding night rape can only mean things are going downhill from here, but if there's ever a time for Sansa to start asserting herself with weapons and stuff, it's now.
