It's time for actor Sam Claflin to enter the arena and join the Hunger Games. The British star who most recently caught our attention in Snow White and the Huntsman is said to be nearing an offer for the role of Catching Fire's Finnick Odair. Pop Sugar editor Molly Goodson is joining me now to talk more about the casting news.

Hi.
So what can you tell us? Is Sam going to play Finnick?
Well it's not 100% confirmed but according to Variety, Sam is at the top of Lionsgates list.
Okay, well I feel like this was the big role that everyone was looking to see who got cast for it in Catching Fire because Finnick is kind of a fan favorite, right?
Yeah, he's actually one of the youngest tributes to ever have won the games and this role's been talked about a lot. There's been a lot of names thrown out there like Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund, but for right now, it's Sam.
Well, you actually met Sam not that long ago at the junket for Snow White and the Huntsman, so you got to meet him in person. Why do you think he's a good fit?
Well, first of all, he's very handsome. And he seems like a real sweetheart. I actually talked to him about why he likes working with these badass characters, like Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman and of course, Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games.
It was a very physical part as well. And she brought a lot of energy and a lot of dedication to it.
Well, Sam is still a lesser-known name in Hollywood but it sounds like that's kind of about to change.
I know. Between particularly, it was actually his first movie, then Snow White and the Huntsmen, and now Hunger Games? That man's star is on the rise. But he did say he still gets a little intimidated when signing on to big projects. I do just become a bundle of nervous energy, really.
