The trailer for Safe House seems like a run-of-the-mill action flick, but the leading men — Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds — make the preview worth a look. Washington plays a badass CIA agent named Tobin Frost, who's gone rogue and is sent to a safe house in South Africa. Reynolds plays eager beaver young agent Matt Weston, who has to move Washington's character to another location when the safe house falls under attack.
What ensues is a mind game, as Frost gets inside Weston's brain about the attack and maybe even convinces him to go rogue. The trailer is rife with explosions and high-speed car chases, but I'm hoping the actual film will have more substance than what we see here (which isn't exactly breaking any new ground.) The film opens February 2012, but see the trailer when you read more.
