New Man of Steel Trailer: Superman Is a God, a Ghost, and a Guardian Angel

Director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is already one of the most highly anticipated movies of the Summer, and the latest trailer makes me even more excited for it.

Director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is already one of the most highly anticipated movies of the Summer, and the latest trailer makes me even more excited for it. The cryptic first preview finds Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill) struggling with his identity and his place in the world, and while this new one is no less existential, it does show a lot more of the supporting cast. We see Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman's real father, in the midst of his planet's destruction, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Clark's protective adoptive parents, Michael Shannon in action as villain General Zod, and Amy Adams as intrepid reporter Lois Lane.

Though I was initially skeptical of Adams as Lois, the interaction between her and Superman in the last moments of the trailer is giving me a lot more faith in her casting. I'm also loving the dark but hopeful tone of the movie, which could be a refreshing change of pace from the many other Superman films we've seen before. Man of Steel opens June 14, but until then, watch the new trailer after the jump.

Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe Land in Sydney With Her Little Ones

Nicole Kidman arrived in Sydney yesterday with her daughters, Faith and Sunday, and her fellow Aussie actor Russell Crowe.

Nicole Kidman arrived in Sydney yesterday with her daughters, Faith and Sunday, and her fellow Aussie actor Russell Crowe. Nicole and her girls got picked up at the airport by Keith Urban, who showered Nicole with kisses before whisking the actress off so she could get ready for that night's AACTA Awards. Russell, meanwhile, helped Nicole usher her kids out of the airport and headed home to prepare for the award show, which he hosted. This isn't the first time that Nicole and Russell have spent time together this week — they also hung out at the SAG Awards on Sunday. Nicole attended the show solo while Keith stayed in Australia for his tour, which will take him to North America this Summer.

Les Misérables: Stands on Its Own

To say that Les Misérables is a musical would be the understatement of the century.

To say that Les Misérables is a musical would be the understatement of the century. The dialogue in the film is sung nearly 100 percent of the time, setting it apart from pretty much every other musical-turned-movie. If three hours of straight singing doesn't sound like your cup of tea, then Les Mis probably isn't for you, but if you appreciate complex characters, an emotionally charged story, and yes, beautiful music, then you're in for a treat.

The story of Les Misérables is one of redemption, with Hugh Jackman carrying most of the burden as Jean Valjean, an ex-convict determined to get a fresh start and live as an honest man in 19th century France. Standing in his way is Javert (Russell Crowe), an inspector determined to put Valjean back in prison. The two square off again and again throughout the years, and along the way, Valjean rescues a poor girl named Cosette from the clutches of two dishonest innkeepers (played to comedic perfection by Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter) and eventually joins a Parisian uprising. Anne Hathaway Goes Dark and Dramatic at NYC's Les Misérables Premiere

Anne Hathaway made a dramatic entrance to the NYC premiere of Les Misérables last night.

Anne Hathaway made a dramatic entrance to the NYC premiere of Les Misérables last night. She wore a striking black Tom Ford gown and bold red lip after donning a floral number for a stop by The Late Show earlier today. Her leading lady Amanda Seyfriend chose a similarly bold look in Alexander McQueen. As they walked into the Zeigfeld Theater, Anne joked about the length of Amanda's train. Anne picked up the back of Amanda's dress and said, "Can I be your bridesmaid?"

Anne and her costars, including Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe, have been busy promoting the film, which hits theaters on Christmas Day, and attended the big London premiere last week following a trip to Japan. Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife, Isla Fisher, stepped out for that event, as did Eddie Redmayne and Russell.
