Robert Pattinson makes his first post-Twilight movie debut, taking on Alice in Wonderland at the box office this weekend. We'll have to wait until Monday to see how the heartthrob fares against the likes of Depp, DiCaprio, and Willis, but I'm more interested to see what happens when he's pitted against his costar (and real-life love interest) Kristen Stewart. Her The Runaways will be added to the mix next week, putting the two movies head-to-head. It's a tough call; I've seen both movies and while Pattinson seems to have more die-hard fans, overall The Runaways is a better movie than Remember Me (look out for my review later in the week). What's your prediction?

How can you even compare them?
Remember Me is PG 13, Runaways is Rated R? So just by virtue of that Remember Me will make more money. Furthermore, Remember Me opened up in Wide Release, and Runaways opens up next week in Limited Release meaning its shown at much less theaters...Ones an independent movie, the other is not
While i personally am looking forward to Runaways because i am a Kristen and Dakota fan, i think it is stupid to set up comparison when they arent even rated the same or released in same way.
1Neither
2I hope they both do very well. I don't want to compare the two very different movies. I thought Remember Me was very good and that Robert was very good in it.
3The Runaways will get a wide realise April 2nd; will it make money? No. Why? It's not twi-hard material; Remember me is out now; will it make money? No. Why? It's not twihard matrial.
4PS: Remember me is an indie film; it cost 15million to make (indie film budget) and is produced by an indie studio (Summit)
"Remember me" is an indie film, low budget; any film under 20 million cost is an indie; "The Runaways" premiere next week in limited release, but it will get wide release 2 weeks later. Tracking for both films say: "Remember me" will make a total of 38-40million dollars and "The Runaways" will make 26-27 million. Both films are low bidget, so their production companies should be happy. Question is, will these kids do anything after the Twilight films...we shall see!
5This comparison is laughable at best. Remember Me and The Runaways could not be more different I for one am not interested in RM cause the story to me does not seem interesting I read the script and was upset with the ending poor taste imo. I love music movies so therefore I will go and see TR and the reviews for it have been great from what I have read. Stop trying to pit Stewart against Pattinson its childish and sad.
6seriously buzzsugar, have you guys ran out of things talk about? pitting these movies (which couldn't be any more different from each other in every aspect) for some unknown solid grounds? utterly pathetic i say. now if you have said, which will win in a popularity contest then of course you will get a resounding "remember me" response. but what you are doing here as we speak is not very classy on your part buzzsugar. disappointed considering i always thought you guys are better than that.
7The movies are completely different so I don't get the comparison. Both are adult films so probably won't benefit from the Twi fandom. That said I plan to see RM but skip TR. Not interested in that topic at all, WTTR looks like a better Kristen film so I'll save my viewing for that one.
8i think that next week KS's movie will do better, but even in general i kind of feel like KS's movie will have a bigger opening weekend. The content of the runaways seems like it'll be more attractive to audiences and i think that it's already getting better reviews tht even the allure of RP wont' help him enough. (don't get me wrong though, i'm going to see both! )
9Rob ^.^
10Remember Me made only 9million in the box office so far..so honestly I think Kristen & Dakota can pull off more money than that for The Runaways. I mean you are talking about them kissing, plus the fact Kristen is playing Joan Jett the queen of rock and roll. Plus the fact ppl want to see what Dakota Fanning does in this movie that will shock audiences. So honestly I think The Runaways has more potential than Rob's movie. Remember Me didn't get great reviews. Only fans loved it.
11Two problems with Pattinson's film: 1 the ending is shameless and manipulative. 2. The movie is not very good at all, but it thinks it is.
Two problems with Stewart's film: There is no audience for the the film, no one really cares. The runaways are a "self tittled important band" in the 70's. Next her male fanbase is next to none because she doesn't seem to allow it. She's closed off. Her female fanbase only likes Twilight, and the very few she has left will not bring that many pennies to the theater.
So both films lose, but Remember will most likely recoup it's cost.
12Honestly, who cares!!! Why can't we just enjoy both movies? They are totally different stories!!!!
13Remember Me has a PG-13 rating, The Runaways has an R. Based on that, more teens ( and teen twi-hards) will be able to see Remember Me.
14The movies are completely different (just saw RM and have been keeping up with TR press) so I don't really know how they can be compared. While both Pattinson and Stewart are in the Twilight movies together it is great to see them doing other roles, and not with each other. They have great careers ahead of them.
the runaways can't wait to see it AND btw must see avatar it was .
15Its not fair to compare, different films, saw RM very good, was impressed by ending, sad, but it met its' goal of the meaning of the movie. Will not give spoiler, go watch the movie. Oh, and Rob along with the rest of the actors were very good. Looking forward in seeing The Runnaways. Please stop playing games with the audience and these young folks.
16Early figures are that RM is making around 9-10 million on over 2000 screens. TR is limited, but I see it at least doing that. I'm not, nor are none of my friends, interested in RM. We are all going to see TR. It's going to do well and may get Kristen and Dakota some award nominations. Rob is not a star outside of Twilight. He just doesn't have that 'it' factor.
17thank you anonymous with the first and second quote, I was saying the same thing when I Looked at the question, I saw Remember me twice this weekend and I was very happy with it, and if it's still in the theaters next week I will problaly watch it again, and if runaways is in my town I will watch that too.
18I think Rob will pull more Twilight fans both because of the PG13 rating and because his is a love story like Twilight
19I think they both will do ok. I saw RM and thought it was good. Yes the ending was sad but watch Sweet Novemeber or City of Angels and the endings were sad. I think Rob was amazing in it and he really impressed me. I will see TR because I like Kristen and I am old enough to remember Joan Jett and love her. But to compare them is not right cause they attract different people and different opinions on the subject.
20Well after seeing the numbers Remember Me pulled in this weekend, I think Runaways might have a chance on winning. I hope they do because while I think RM looks good, I don't think it's worth spending money to watch in the theater.
21I'll see RM on DVD one day. I wasn't really excited once I saw the trailer and knew the ending. I'm not sure how Buzzsugar comes up with comparisons though. TR is rated R and in limited release. It only opens in 10 theaters Friday and then another 1,000 in April. RM is in over 2200. Since RM did lackluster and will probably drop by half or more, TR could likely beat it. Either way come Awards season, Kristen has the better chance of a nomination.
22Ugh. Another reason I hate anonymous comments. Buzz isn't saying the movies are similar. In fact, I think her point is that the movies are very different.
23Anyway, I think The Runaways is going to surprise everyone and be more successful than a lot of people are predicting. Overall, I think Stewart is a better actor than Pattinson. She hasn't been good in everything she's been in, but she's had some strong roles
24Oh, and Remember Me is also produced by Summit and also had a low budget (about $20 million).
25I think both movies are great we have to see and enjoy it, it's difficulte to choose one.
26I have no interest in watching Remember Me but then again I'm probably the only person here that is not a Twilight fan. I think Kristen Stewart is a cool girl and I've been a fan of Dakota Fanning for years not to mention I love Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. I had to go to another city to watch The Runaways and it was great.
