Robert Downey Jr. may have had his share of trouble with the law, but soon he'll be on the other side of it. Downey is in talks to play Perry Mason in a big-screen reboot of the '50s-'60s series featuring one of television's most beloved lawyers. Downey, who is also set to produce, is currently seeking a screenwriter for the script, which will feature characters from the hit CBS series, including Mason's secretary Della Street and his private investigator Paul Drake. I loved Downey's turn as a funny lawyer in Ally McBeal, so I'm looking forward to him bringing some humor to the role of Mason, especially since the TV character was known for proving his clients' innocence with dramatic flair.
