Rio Wins Number One Spot at Box Office Two Weekends in a Row
Box Office: Rio Soars Above the Competition
It was another big weekend for animated film Rio, which nailed the number one spot at the box office for the second week in a row with $26.8 million. It beat out a couple of new releases, like Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family, which pulled in $25.8 million, and Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon's circus romance Water For Elephants, which earned $17.5 million in third place.

Hop managed to make it to number four with $12.5 million — not surprising since it was Easter weekend. Finally, Scream 4 just squeaked into the top five with a total of $7.2 million in its second week of release.
