OK, I've discreetly wiped the tears from my eyes post-wedding and have to report that I was pleasantly surprised β after all the hype, The Office managed to pull off unconventional and totally touching nuptials for Jim and Pam.
The video sneak peek didn't give away the wedding surprises β or the moments of hilariousness that arose. I've put together my favorite lines of the episode here, so check them out β and for another Office water cooler, join The Office group in the community!
To see the best lines of this week, just read more.
- "A three ounce fetus is calling the shots! That's so badass." β Dwight
Dwight is entranced by Pam's pregnancy, but he and the rest of the office are not exactly sympathetic. That is, until Dwight's peeled egg makes Pam barf, then Andy barf, then a full-on chain reaction barf ensues, reminiscent of the notorious scene in Stand By Me. - "Some of us have to be our own grandmother." β Angela
Angela's uptightness kills me in this episode β from her being offended by Pam's pregnancy to honking incessantly at Kevin in the office parking lot. Hilarious. - "A lot of people told me I was crazy to wait this long for a date with a girl I worked with, but I think even then I knew, I was waiting for my wife." β Jim
Obviously this line isn't funny, but it was possibly my favorite one in the whole episode. It's such a sweet, genuinely Jim thing for him to say at the rehearsal dinner and is one of those moments at any crazy wedding where you remember why you're there. Oh and it's the line that's uttered right before Jim accidentally slips that Pam is pregnant and everything comes crashing down. - "I was dancing and I did a split and I landed on my car keys in my pocket." β Andy
Andy's accident actually sets off many hilarious lines, such as "He is in my room icing his balls," Jim's "No! Let's talk for a long time," and "Andy, did I dream that you were crying through the night?" - "What else you got?!" β Erin
Meek receptionist Erin rarely gets a funny line, but her screaming at Andy to show off another dance move after he was so obviously injured is so funny and timed perfectly. - "I bought those boat tickets the day I saw that YouTube video." β Jim
Pretty sure my jaw dropped when "Forever" from the JK Wedding Entrance dance came on. It's just the kind of cheesy disaster that would befall Jim and Pam, but they've already secretly gotten married, so instead of horror, it's joy on their faces watching their co-workers and family groove down the aisle. The fact that they cut in footage from the ceremony at sea? Perfect.
Need to see that wedding dance again? Say no more!
Want even more? Check out Pam's video diary from the big day (starring Jim in his underwear!):
So, everyone's favorite colleague couple is now married, and I was not disappointed by the wedding episode at all. What did you think? Was it a fitting event for Jim and Pam?

I thought it would be overrated, but it was seriously good tv. Just the perfect amount of offensive, cute, and funny.
Pam and Jim look/act like such a real couple that Pam even looked amazing on her wedding day when usually she's just ok-cute, just like real brides do.
And Andy coming down on the walker + Dwight kicking that girl....I almost died laughing.
1Best episode ..ever!! Lol omg it was soo funny.. from the vomiting to Andy and then the dancing...oh man. Great episode.. I LOVED that Jim and Pam eloped on the Maid of the Mist. I love The Office
2SO adorable! Love Pam and Jim! The boat moment was so cute, had me gushing. And I loved when everyone danced down the aisle, that was hilarious.
3This episode was awesome. Everything I could have hoped for, but not too cheesy.
I love Andy and his torn scrotum, and Dwight. How does Dwight manage to get the ladies though? I mean really?
Epic dance sequence too.
4I LOVED IT!!! I thought it was going to be okay, but it was so much better than I could have expected!!
I could watch the dance sequence over and over, it was amazingly awesome!
5I was one of those people who thought the original YouTube wedding dance was SO cheesy. But it was perfect for the Dunder Mifflin folks.
I totally called Michael sleeping with Pam's mom.
I love how they got married on the Maid of the Mist, how Kevin wore a toupee and tissue boxes, and how Dwight got laid (with a hot chick no less!), blew her off, and then accidentally kicked her in the face.
6One of the worst office episodes ever. Away with subtlety and Office wittiness. They are barfing at the beginning, kicking bridesmaids, and further wearing out the already annoying youtube wedding video. Many characters departed from their usual demeanor and it was extremely unbelievable. I was looking forward to a memorable episode and was left with one I hope to forget. Im still on board but just barely. Get back to where you once belonged Office because where you are going has been played out.
7One of the best episodes ever!
Loved the wedding on the boat and the fact the Dwight & Micheal were in on the dance down the aisle bit...greatness!
8the best part was dwight wearing the three wolves howling at the moon shirt
9This episode was amazing!!!! I thought there would be flasbacks like in the promos and was sad that there wasn't but it wasn't even necessary. LOVED to watch ALL the Office employees dancing down the aisle. I'm keeping this one on my Tivo.
10Swoonworthy. Love the Maid of the Mist wedding.. also totally cringe-worthy with Michael describing sex before marriage.. and saying that Jim and Pam were going to name the baby "Me-maw" "you mean Sylvia?"
11I love the fact that the writers are giving Pam more of an attitude. Her look at Dwight right before she started barfing was priceless.
12I enjoyed the episode enough -- there was enough over-the-top humor mixed in with awww moments. BUT, and I really hate to say it, I think the show jumped the shark with Michael/Pam's mom. Ugh.
13I loved this episode, top to bottom. Kevin's shoes, Andy's split, Jim's tie, Dwight's kick, Angela's stiff walk down the aisle, Phyllis's hat, Creed's vulture-like stance at the gift table ... everything seemed perfectly in character. And the boat ride was so sweet. I'll be buying this on iTunes β heck, if they were selling a director's cut for more money, I'd probably buy it right now. I loved it that much.
14YES! I loved Andy walking (er, um, dancing) down the aisle on his walker!
Great episode - I laughed many times!
Nice recap, Buzz.
15I loved it. It just reminded me how much I love all of these goofy, awkward characters.
16There were some funny moments, but I agree: The show has officially jumped the shark. I hope it can get back on track. The writers were drinking a little too much or weren't trying.
17I thought the way they intercut the footage of the dance and the falls was pretty brilliant. If they can keep the marriage plotline as good as this episdoe, I don't think the show will jump any sharks. I wonder how many views that YouTube video has gotten since last night. Also, in retrospect, having a Chris Brown song at one's wedding seems rather unfortunate.
18Oh my I loved it.
I don't think I've ever been so invested in a tv couple. That's horrible right? I cried though!!
I just watched the dance video again and it was awesome.
Everything about that episode was so perfect - the dialogue, the situations, Jim's looks at the camera, Jim and Pam's interactions and looks at each other.
At the very end of the episode when it shows J&P standing on the boat and Jim looks into the camera and smiles... swoon!!
I can't believe I felt that way about fictional characters getting married! I feel a little embarrassed lol
Also - that video blog = perfection
19Am I the only one confused about when they went to the falls? They ran off, came back with dry hair, and the church ceremony was cut with them getting soaking wet?
It was cute, but I hope the show remembers its fans that aren't all just watching for Jim/Pam.
20this eps officially solidified my love for the show. YAY for JIM & PAM!
21I loved this episode and so happy that they went off and eloped for themselves and then came back to put on a wedding for their friends and family. Thanks for explaining what the wedding entrance was all about me and my hubby were really confused to what that was all about.
22I don't think there could be a more lovable tv character than Jim Halpert. Last night made me love him and adore them even more. Such a sweet but also hilarious episode. Sweetest part for me was when Jim was talking about buying the tix to the boat trip a while back and gave his Plan C, Plan B, Plan A speech. I don't remember it word for word but it was adorable. I'm totally going to re-watch this one!
23I totally misted up at the end with the Chris Brown song...it fit totally with the cheesy office crew. And the Plan A speech...loved it.
24Kevin wearing tissue boxes for shoes was hilarious!
25Man, this was a great episode. I cried during the dance scene when they cut to Jim and Pam's actual wedding on the boat. It was perfect for them to get away and have an intimate wedding, then come back and just enjoy the cheesiness they knew their co-workers and family would put up. Also made me laugh was Dwight kicking the girl in the face and Kevin tripping! Only thing I really didn't like was Pam's mom sleeping with Michael. It just seems out of character esp if you go back and see Pam's mom in season 2
26also,I don't think I could settle for anyone less than a guy like Jim. Seriously, Jim Halpert is the perfect guy. I hope there are guys like him out there haha.
27It was awesome.
28Probably my favorite episode ever! I agree with cupcakers - I hope there aer Jim Halpert's out there!
29I have watched every Office episode and this is by far the worst. So bad in fact I felt compelled to write why. Primary reason? : 1.) Void of clever / witty humor. 2.) Full of predictable junk you find in other shows. 3.) Characters break established personalities / demenors. 4.) Forced character plots with absurd responses.
30Grade: F
cupcakers -- there are
I married one of them ! my husband and I were good good
friends in college... I knew he liked me but I was dating other people. Still, he was the one I turned to, the one I trusted, and finally, one day, I realized that I was in love with him too.
We've been married for over four years !
31this was anamazing episode! the dancing was too funny and i teared up a little bit when Jim cut his tie... so romantic in a perfectly Jim way
32I loved this episode. It actually had me crying a couple of times due to how sweet and amazing Jim Halpert is. The 'mental image' thing, the toast at the rehearsal dinner & then of course the "plan a would have been marrying her along time ago, like the day we met" or something along those lines.
Kevin with the kleenex shoes & the wig!! Dwight somehow getting a hot bridesmaid to sleep with him. Andy's split hahahahahahaha! Jim/Pam phone call when Jim is out drinking with Michael & Dwight.
Michael made me a little uncomfortable in this episode, when he went to marmee's room my heart sank 'cos I was dreading what he was going to do, thankfully he didn't do anything!
Michael & Pam's mom - ??????
33runningesq-you are a very lucky lady!that's such a sweet story and I'm glad you have your Jim!
I just hope I find my Jim soon!
I keep re-watching the wedding scene, it makes me cry and laugh at the same time.
34I can't believe no one mentioned Dwight's turtles...I almost peed my pants when he stuffed the poor thing back in the gift box it had just escaped from
35i can die and be happy. that episode made me cry more times than i can count.
36I totally agree with Thisismeno?. Me and my boyfriend were just baffled at this episode. They totally jumped the shark. I thought it was pretty terrible. Jim and Pam were cute as always and I enjoyed their wedding, but we seriously thought they had hired new writers that had never seen the show before or something.
37That episode was the worst piece of television I've seen since the final episode of Seinfeld. It was as if Michael Scott saw the British Office and decided to write and direct his own version. Destination episodes are always terrible, but this one was unwatchable. All of the characters have become completely realistic. Hopefully Ricky Gervais will make them pull the plug now that Pam and Jim's lame romance has come to fruition. I've seen better acting on the Knife Show. And what was up with Pam and Jim being rude to everyone and so selfish about their wedding? Too bad Dwight didn't give them a snapping turtle.
38That episode was great... when it ended. It made me weep only since now there is nothing to watch at that time slot.
39Although the jokes in this episode are not the usual subtle ones, I totally enjoyed it! And why is no one commenting on Creed eating his noodles, looking around as if saying "what's going on? am I missing something here?" whilst everyone else was barfing around him!!
40I don't get where the notion that the characters didn't act themselves came from! I thought all of them behaved very much like they would. The episode was simply brilliant from Kevin wearing tissue boxes to Angela walking down the isle all stiff to Dwight wearing the howling wolves t-shirt to Phylis and Bob Vance dancing down the isle to Andy tearing his scrotum to Creed eating his noodles while everyone vomited to Oscar's vogue dance. The episode was pure gold ending with a great wedding sequence that was hilarious yet touching. I think that Michael and Pam's mom hook-up has potential if the writers go the right way with it. To all of you nay-sayers about this episode you have no idea what you are talking about. Absolutely BRILLIANT!
41anyone know who the guy on the boat that performed the ceremony is? he's my doppelganger
