The main storyline of this week's episode centered around Nate's cousin Tripp's congressional campaign — and the hoax that would help him win the election. Vanessa is back, documenting the last day of Tripp's political trip (haha), and she catches the man Tripp "saves" jumping into the Hudson River. Naturally, she can't wait to show off her moral compass and gives the footage to a local news producer — only she's been foiled by Nate (Nate! He must actually be attending classes. He can foil people now).
Long story short, Nate takes the fall for setting up the hoax, Tripp wins, they oust their grandfather, and DUN DUN DUN . . . it turns out that Tripp's wife Maureen actually orchestrated the hoax. I'd brag about how early I called that, but it was so obvious you would have had to been watching the show on mute to not have called it.
