Ready For a 3-D Rock 'n' Roll Musical Version of Cleopatra?

Yes, let's review those facts:

Director Steven Soderbergh is planning a movie about Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
It will be a live-action 3-D movie.
It will also be a rock 'n' roll musical.
Soderbergh is hoping to get Catherine Zeta-Jones to play "Cleo" and Hugh Jackman to play her lover, Marc Antony.

After the initial "whaaa?" reaction, I'm warming to this idea, especially because the band Guided by Voices has apparently already written the music for the movie. What do you think? Could you see this working, or does it sound like a big hot mess?

Wow. Well, I was totally put off until I saw the Guided By Voices part. That is such a weird project for them to take on that it bodes well for its awesomeness. That and Hugh Jackman.

i think that it kind of sounds like a 'hot mess' but i hate to say it, it's kind of like a train wreck and i'll be forced to check it out.

Wow, this sounds like a good idea that may have been taken a bit too far. I think that a remake of Cleopatra sounds cool (haven't see a good, long epic in a while) but a musical? that part sounds like a mess to me (and I usually love musicals).
