The Princess and the Frog Looks Funny, Happy and Sweet

It was cool to get a glimpse of The Princess and the Frog back in May, but half of that video was simply about how great Disney is in general. Now there's a full-length trailer for the animated movie and it looks like Disney really is returning to the kinds of hand-drawn musical movies I so cherished when I was a kid. We have yet another Disney princess, Princess Tiana, but the similarities between this story and any of the others before it stop there. Set in New Orleans' French Quarter during the Jazz Age, the story is a spin on the old princess and the frog fairy tale.

The clean, vibrant animation and showstopping tunes make me feel a little nostalgic for my own childhood. So cute! The Princess and the Frog opens Dec. 11, and to check out the new trailer, read more.

I like how they've used an African-American lead. It really helps to promote cultural acceptance among younger children and to make sure African-American children feel included rather than outcast.

I too love the hand drawn animation. I'll be setting up a Mommy/Daughter day with my youngest for this one. I'm sure my older girls will want to come too though :-)

oh yay! finally another hand drawn animation from Disney. can't wait.. i sound like a 5 year old but whatevs, Disney definitely brings back the child in me.

This will be nostalgic to watch as I grew up with these kind of movies. I hope that in the future we can also have a Hispanic Disney princess. :)

I am suprised that it took Disney this long to create another Princess Story! Ariel, Belle, and Jasime were brought on in the 90's and the whole Princess theme has been a huge hit for little girls over the last 7 to 8 years! My daughter has grown out of the Princess stuff now but I know we will be seeing this movie- it's Disney of course it will be a hit!

Love the hand drawn animation, but I'm kinda surprised that this is Disney's first black princess. You's think that would have happened 20-25 years ago
