I'm curious about Raising the Bar, TNT's newest drama series, for a variety of reasons. One is that it comes from Steven Bochco, the legendary executive producer of LA Law and NYPD Blue who knows his way around a legal drama. Another is that it's yet another TNT show with strong female characters, including Jane Kaczmarek as a tough, no-nonsense judge. And a third is, well, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, now and forever Zack Morris to me, who has a seriously long, seriously funny hairdo.
The show, which is about two teams of lawyers — public defenders and district attorneys — working in New York City's justice system, premieres on Labor Day, but I've rounded up a couple of clips that give us an early glimpse. In one, we see Jerry Kellerman (Gosselaar), a passionate public defender, and Michelle Ernhardt (Melissa Sagemiller), a district attorney, battling wills. In the other, the actors on both teams introduce us to their characters, interspersed with plenty of clips from the show. Do you think Raising the Bar can transcend the generic legal show? Is Gosselaar's hair awesome or awful? To check out the clips, just read more.

just looks like the same old same old to me.
1that hair is awful!!
2The hair is beyond awful! I was looking forward to watching it simply for the MPG eye candy, but they took that away from me!
3Yeah, that's one seriously bad hair style on MPG. But Jane Kaczmarek's hair looks fab! Funny on the alum pairings: Gloria and Jonathan from ER, Natalia and MPG from SBTB. The show doesn't look interesting to me though...and J.August playing yet another attorney does not bode well for the show (when his character on Angel became a lawyer, the show got cancelled, his other show Conviction barely made it out of the gate).
4MPG has had weird hair years for a while now except for a stint on NYPD Blue i think. the show seems interesting enough, although it kind of feels like it's along the same lines as a lot of others that are on air right now. we'll have to see how it does - TNT and FX Are really coming to the table with new and innovative programming instead of picking up syndication.
5Bad, Bad, BAD hair.
6Definitely will give this a try--despite the bad hair!
7I usually love a man with long hair but its not for everyone, this is a prime example. Icky hair.
yay for Jane Kaczmarek bac on tv. I'll definitely be watching this...I'm a sucker for legal drama's
8yeah. what is with the hair?? it's totally overtaken anything else in ads for me...
