Preview of New ABC Comedy Better Together Starring Joanna Garcia and Debra Jo Rupp

I kicked off my summertime series spotlighting new Fall TV shows with $#*! My Dad Says last week, and now I'm turning to a sitcom offering from ABC: Better With You.

• Who's in it? Joanna Garcia is one of the most recognizable faces here, but That '70s Show's Debra Jo Rupp is also part of the ensemble without her retro curls. Relative newcomer Jennifer Finnigan is another lead, while her boyfriend is played by Josh Cooke, who had a memorable bit in I Love You Man.
• What it's about: Garcia and Finnigan play sisters in this family/relationship comedy about three different couples in various stages of their relationships. Garcia is newly engaged, Finnigan is committed but unmarried, and their parents have been married for over 30 years.
• Why it caught my attention: My ears are perked whenever Joanna Garcia is attached to a TV show — and I'm hoping that this could be the one that sticks for her (RIP Privileged).
• Show most likely to: Be derailed by its canned laugh track.
