Plain Jane Premieres Wednesday July 28 on The CW

It's actually been a pretty eventful Summer for TV, due to the return of True Blood and Mad Men and new series like Pretty Little Liars (you guys seem to be doing just fine!). The other Summer TV staple is reality, and with The Bachelorette almost over, you may need another guilty pleasure to fill the void. Enter The CW's Plain Jane, a makeover show premiering tonight, and hosted by fashionable Brit Louise Roe (whom you may recognize from FabTV!).

Each week, the show takes a more-geek-than-chic gal and helps her nab her crush through the magic of wardrobe, hair, and makeup. It all sounds pretty formulaic (not that I'm judging — I love this stuff), except for the "confidence-building exercises," which includes stuff like outfitting the makeover subject with a shocking device if she reverts to her "plain jane" ways during flirting. So there's that.
