Which NBC Comedy Had the Best Holiday Episode?

NBC's Thursday night comedies aired their holiday episodes this week, and each one had its share of laughs, but which show was the best?

NBC's Thursday night comedies aired their holiday episodes this week, and each one had its share of laughs, but which show was the best? On Community, the study group gets pulled into the glee club to perform in the college's Christmas pageant, and on Parks and Recreation, Leslie's colleagues pull together to give her the gift of running her campaign. Over on The Office, Dwight and Jim engage in the ultimate prank-off (but with a twist), while on Whitney, Chris and Whitney try to avoid their families so they can avoid holiday drama. Every show had me laughing out loud (especially the funny songs on Community and Tom's "Baller Time" watch on Parks and Rec), and The Office and Whitney have some sweet moments — but which one had the best holiday episode?

With the exception of Happy Endings, most of this year's best comedies have been around for a few seasons. Many saw repeat wins in categories at the Emmys, like Modern Family, which picked up its second win for best comedy series, and The Big Bang Theory, whose star Jim Parsons received his second statuette for lead actor in a comedy series. But now it's your turn to do the voting, so check out the list of funny 2011 shows and let us know which one is your favorite of 2011.

Have a friend who can't get enough of Parks and Recreation and the crazy Pawnee crew?

For a perfect stocking stuffer, these Knope 2012 Buttons ($6) will help show support of Leslie in her upcoming election. Buying this "freaking awesome" Pawnee Goddess T-Shirt ($26) should be your first order of official business for your Pawnee Goddess troop. Or maybe you have a serious Swanson lover on your hands? Look no further than the Swanson Pyramid of Greatness ($20). Follow its advice and your friends will find themselves transformed from "boy to a man, from a man to a gladiator, and from a gladiator into a Swanson."

Hopefully, you know someone that loves Parks as Rec as much as we do; they'd be thrilled to get any of the Pawnee-inspired gifts we've pulled below. And if for some reason you don't know someone who adores the show in the same vein you do, I urge you to "Treat Yo Self." Some of these gifts are just too good to pass up.

Halloween

Which NBC Comedy Has the Best Halloween Episode This Year?

The Halloween spirit was in full force this week with the NBC Thursday night lineup.

The Halloween spirit was in full force this week with the NBC Thursday night lineup. In past seasons, Halloween isn't always celebrated on each of these shows, but last night we lucked out with Halloween-inspired episodes of Community, Parks and Recreation, and The Office.

On Community, Britta realizes that someone in the group has psychopathic tendencies, and she's determined to find out who the creeper is. The majority of the episode is made up of goofy vignettes that poke fun at the horror fiction genre. Things were different on Parks and Recreation. Although Halloween provides the backdrop for April and Andy's epic costume party, the focus of the episode is more on fun and friendship rather than Halloween mischief or mayhem. And finally on The Office, after Andy prescreens everyone's costumes, we learn that Erin is responsible for the success of an "adult" Halloween party. Despite the fact that classic office hijinks develop, there are still a few pretty unsettling scenes.

Each of these shows took a pretty different approach, but, for me, it felt like Community embraced the spooky spirit of the season the most wholeheartedly. If you tuned in, speak up: which of NBC's Thursday night comedies did you think was the best?

Fall TV

Which NBC Comedy Are You Most Excited to Watch Tonight?

Amid all the excitement of Fall TV, tonight feels extra special because NBC's Thursday comedy block is back!

Amid all the excitement of Fall TV, tonight feels extra special because NBC's Thursday comedy block is back! Community has guest star John Goodman, Parks and Recreation will revisit the cliffhanger of what happens to Leslie and Ben in the face of her campaign run, and we'll get to see what life is like in The Office with a brand-new boss. After those, newbie comedy Whitney will have its series premiere. I think I might be most excited to see Parks and Rec, but I've missed the denizens of Greendale Community College and Dunder Mifflin as well. I also want to see if Whitney feels like it fits in with its more established lead-ins, so all in all, it's going to be a great night for watching TV. But tell us now: which of tonight's NBC comedies are you looking forward to the most?
