Once Upon a Time

The second chapter of Once Upon a Time's fairy tale has come to an end, setting up a whole new direction for season three. The episode isn't exactly wall-to-wall action (I think I actually like last week's better, what with Neal disappearing into the portal and all), but the final moments are definitely exciting. I couldn't muster up that much emotion about the possibility of Storybrooke being demolished since we all knew that wasn't going to happen, but seeing Henry get snatched is pretty upsetting — and gave me some serious flashbacks to Walt's kidnapping on Lost.

The twist on the Peter Pan story is interesting to say the least: is he actually a creepy villain in this story, or is he just shrouded in mystery? And what does he want with Henry? And how will Emma and company get back to the Enchanted Forest to save Neal? There's a lot to chew on — what did you think of the finale?

The full version of Karl Lagerfeld's latest short film for Chanel, called Once Upon a Time, has finally landed online.

The film, which stars Keira Knightley as a young Gabrielle Chanel, tells the story of one of the designer's first shops, which she opened in the French seaside resort town of Deauville in 1913.

In the film, which will be screened at Chanel's Resort 2014 presentation in Singapore this month, Chanel is helped along by her aunt Adrienne — played by actress Clotilde Hemse — as she caters to wealthy clients like Jacqueline Forzane (played by Ashleigh Good) and Ida Rubinstein (portrayed by Caroline de Maigret). When Vita Sackville-West — played by Saskia de Brauw — looks through the windows of the store toward the end of the film, she asks, "I wonder what it will be in 100 years from now?"

Once Upon a Time returns from its midseason break this week, and as we saw back in December, Cora and Hook are on their way into Storybrooke to make some mischief. When I visited the set of the show recently, the cast talked about what their entrance into the enchanted Maine town would mean, as well as what else is happening for the fairy-tale characters right now. Read on to find out three big things to expect from the midseason premiere, and if you're a fan, don't miss my fun facts about season two either.

1. Captain Hook and Cora may look funny in Storybrooke.
Colin O'Donoghue (Captain Hook): "He's still in his leather outfit. The jacket's warm, but he's still in that at the minute."

Executive producer Steve Pearlman: "I can tell you that in Storybrooke, [Cora] is wearing her blue gown, and she looks just like Cora in Fairy Tale Land, because that's who Cora is, and I think that's kind of cool. . . . He [Captain Hook] also hangs out on rooftops, so I don't know how you blend in when that's kind of your hangout."

2. Despite their funny look, they're dangerous.
Jennifer Morrison (Emma): "I think Cora is terrifying. To me she is the most terrifying villain we've had, only because she's so sweet and so charming and she's easy to believe and is just completely cold-blooded without any sort of remorse for her actions. She's so just one-tracked about what she wants and how she wants it and how things are going to be, and that is usually at the destruction of everything and everyone around her."

Ginnifer Goodwin (Mary Margaret/Snow White): "We are establishing that Cora makes Snow feel more unsafe than any other villain has, thus far. It is as much how they've written the character as it is that Barbara Hershey (who plays Cora) is so grounded and confident and breathes through her performance in such a way that I feel gives her so much power. It's almost like when she smiles, she's even more threatening, because she is just so confident that she has something to back that smile up."

CO: "The thing about Hook is [that] he has absolutely no fear. If somebody's going to kill him, they're going to kill him; that's the way he is, and he'll fight back. I think at this stage now, it's not about life and death anymore; his motivation is now about revenge."

Once Upon a Time's midseason finale airs this week, and the show won't be back until January. 1. Cora is the biggest threat right now.
Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin): "I think she's just bad news. She's bad news to have around; she's nasty. I think that Rumpel is about himself, but I don't think he's necessarily world-domination-nasty and I think that Cora probably is."

Lana Parrilla (Regina/the Evil Queen): "[Regina] is terrified. It's her worst nightmare. Think about what [Regina] has done to Cora. We only know some of what Cora has done to her. We have to think that Regina has banished her mother and sent her to another land, pushed her through a mirror, and just got rid of her, and tried to kill her."

Josh Dallas (David/Prince Charming): "I think Cora is the one to watch out for. She's superpowerful. Gold's going to have his work cut out for him, for sure."

2. But Captain Hook might be just as bad.
Colin O'Donoghue (Captain Hook): "He [Captain Hook] will use whatever means necessary to get his own way. He’ll have no problem being a charming gentleman to one person and be completely ruthless with another. That's the way he is. I think he's not necessarily outwardly evil, but he's definitely self-serving, completely."

Jennifer Morrison (Emma): "I feel like you should understand that obviously I couldn't trust him. I'm just saying."

This season of Once Upon a Time has brought a lot of new things for Jennifer Morrison's character Emma now that the curse has been lifted, including relationships with the parents she didn't know were her parents (Snow White and Prince Charming). Season two has also brought plenty of trouble in the form of Captain Hook, played by new cast member Colin O'Donoghue. I recently visited the set of Once Upon a Time with a few other reporters, and we chatted with Morrison about Hook, their burgeoning romantic tension, and the latest developments for Emma. There's some sexual tension between Emma and Hook.
Jennifer Morrison: Yeah, it’s been really fun working with Colin and having Emma interact with that character because they’re definitely kindred spirits. They’re both thieves, and they’ve come from troubled pasts, and they’ve both lost a true love, and so I think that there’s a lot that they recognize in each other. So there’s that camaraderie and also that combativeness with that right away.

Are you hoping they'll get together?
JM: I’m hoping that Emma has some romance in her life. It’s been awhile.

Henry's father seemed great too.
JM: Oh yeah, he’s great. Michael Raymond-James [who plays Emma's ex, Neal Cassady] is great too. We’ve been so lucky — we’ve had so many wonderful people join the show this year. That episode ["Tallahassee"] in particular was really fun, just to be able to show her backstory and show the parallel to what was going on with Hook and all that stuff. And as much as there are similarities in those relationships, those two guys couldn’t be any more different, which is also great.
