This week The Office returned to its half-hour format, and I couldn't be happier. I thought this week's episode was pitch-perfect, classic Office goodness. Michael is determined to make a Dunder-Mifflin commercial that's better and more creative than the one made for the corporate office. Meanwhile, Dwight continues to pine for Angela, escaping into Second Life... and Second Second Life. The viewing of Michael's version of the ad brought just the right amount of funny and heartwarming.

There were some hilarious moments this week, so check out my highlights below:
- Michael calls Stanley the key to their "urban vibe," to which Stanley responds, "I grew up in a small town. What about me seems urban to you?”
Michael: "Stanley is hilarious." - Michael then calls Phyllis their Mrs. Butterworth. "Kind of a less urban Aunt Jemima."
- Dwight: "Second Life is not a game. It is a multi-user virtual environment. It doesn’t have points or scores, it doesn’t have winners or losers."
Jim: "Oh, it has losers." - Dwight: “I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my second life, I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly."
- Andy explains to Dwight that he and Angela have been “necking.”
“But only necking. Not actually kissing our mouths, just neck on neck. It’s just like rubbing-slash-nuzzling our necks together. It’s hot, I’m not going to lie to you, but it’s a little weird." - Kevin says he kind of knows what it’s like to be in commercials because his nickname in high school was Kool-Aid man. Then he makes the Kool-Aid man face!
- Meredith: “I’m excited about doing the ad, but I’m not really used to doing videos with so many people around.”
- Creed calls Sue Grafton "crazy hot."
- Angela: “I find the mystery genre disgusting. I hate being titillated."
- I love the lyrics to the Darryl's Dunder-Mifflin song: "Dunder Mifflin: The People Person’s Paper People."
- Dwight: “She called you D?”
Andy: "Yeah, D for Andy." - In Michael's commercial, Dwight's paper reads, “You have a son. And it’s me."
- "Dunder Mifflin: Limitless paper in a paperless world."

ok i was never a complainer of the hour-long eps but this episode flowed nicely, only being 30 minutes long. i laughed so hard in this episode. i loved how in the commercial michael made everyone act their own stereotypes... like kelly being the one from india. ha. so ridiculous. and that whole:
"i thought the song would be a rap"
"what's rap"
"oh, i'll make you a mix"
stereotype central in this episode.
dwights second second world was hilarious.
"OH, D!"
hahahah.
so good.
1i want the jingle as my ringtone.
awesome episode. classic 'office' goodness.
2Kevin says he kind of knows what it’s like to be in commercials because his nickname in high school was Kool-Aid man. Then he makes the Kool-Aid man face!
TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THAT.
3hillllarious!
ddene — I actually rewound that part and paused it on Kevin's Kool-Aid face and I could not stop laughing. He really looks like the Kool-Aid man!!
4buzz... i did the same the same thing!!! it was probably the best thing i've ever seen. haha. great recap.
5[and why i repeated "the same" twice... i don't know. ha]
6I can't wait to watch this one online! I ahte how NBC doesn't post these until 2AM. I also am happy that netflix finally has season 3 for instant viewing. I am finally caught up on what happened between season 2 and this season. yay office!
7I liked this one a lot. I changed my TeamSugar chatter to read "You got 'nard dogged!"
Darryl's jingle was hilarious... how it referred to "Indian Kelly" and how Creed was SO into it.
"Break me off a piece of that Fancy Feast!"
My only complaint is that I'm tired of Sad Dwight. I want overly-confident, surly, heavy-metal-listening, kissing-Michael's-ass Dwight back, and fast. Hopefully that'll happen soon, he seemed pretty happy about "Oh, D."
8Oh, and Jim's Second Life guy was hilarious!
Did anyone else get a weird PB&J vibe last night, like something is going to go wrong between them soon? Or am I crazy?
9I loved Michael's version of the commercial, especially the part with Dwight and Phyllis...that was hilarious!
10WhilashGirlchild you're not crazy, I think I felt it a little bit too. I'm hoping that it's just Jim and Pam settling into each other, finding their little groove. Pam didn't get on the motorcycle, did she?
11Gasp...somehow I must have looked down at exactly the wrong second and missed the Kool-Aid face! I think I still have it on tivo, I'm SO going back to look at that. My other favorite TV quote last night came from Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) on 30 Rock, at the end of the episode when Liz Lemon was complaining about how insane Carrie Fisher's character's apartment and persona were. Jack's immediate response was, "Never go with a hippie to a second location." Haaaahahah.
12Also, I agree, I definitely felt a weird Pam/Jim vibe. But since he's admitted that he's in love, there's GOT to be some stumbling blocks to keep it interesting. I'm rooting for them...if not me, Pam is the only other one I want him having!
13i guess it was just me, but i could not get into this episode! true, i was flipping btwn this and grey's anatomy. 'tis a shame that the two shows overlap = /
mrs. butterworth...classic! and phyllis's blubbering tears and smeared mascara, what a baby!
14I have been really worried about The Office this season, but my confidence has been restored after last night! And I thought Micheal's commercial was awesome! Stupid corporate with their cookie-cutter commercial!
15The commercial Michael made was GREAT! and the kool-aid man - wow. I kinda got the weird feeling about pam and jim too, but hope its just trying to show that they still are learning about each other and trying to get into the groove of their relationship. Karen's coming back next week though so I'm sure they'll touch on any relationship issues then
16The Kool Aid Man had me laughing so hard that I couldn't breathe. Also the "necking" explanation from Andy. This episode is destined to be a classic.
17My favorite part had to be Darryl's jingle, and then when Michael said, "I wanted a rap", Darryl said, "What's rap?"
18sugar becky...
that was one of my fave parts [see above comment of mine].
19i loved when michael told him he'd make him a mix tape. haha.
I LOVE how Darryl is coming into his own! I am so loving the dynamic he has with Kelly. Also, there was an odd vibe between Pam and Jim....and I am glad to hear Karen is coming back next week
20Oh D!
Oh D!
Oooh D!
Ha ha!
21That cracked me up!
I love Dwight!
One more great line last night:
Michael: "Pam, can you clear my lines?"
Pam: "Sure Michael...boop, beep, boop, boop, beep beep....Okay, all clear."
 I was dying at that. Great episode last night- welcome back 30 minutes eps, I missed you so!
22Aw man, I always screw up the laughing smiley...
There we go
23haha i loved the ep last night! the best one i have seen in a loooong time
24i can't believe corporate didn't pick michael's commercial...it was really good! i was pretty impressed, i thought it was going to be a really bad & offensive, but it was awesome! i watched it twice! and i thought their slogan at the end was great! "Limitless paper for a paperless world"
"World's most creative boss" hahahahha
25Michael's commercial was so hilarious... "You Have A Son. And It's Me." made me just about die. The thing that is so great about the American office is that as cringe-worthy as Michael can be, there's always a little bit of heartwarmingness at the end to make it all worth it.
I loved Darryl's song, I thought it was quite well-done. I'm enjoying seeing more of him on the show. Plus, it cracks me up every time Pam gets hit on in front of Jim! I love that her confidence is growing this season, but I did get that weird vibe some of you mentioned... should be interesting to see what happens.
26I loved it! Dwight playing second life is classic.
27...am I the only one that wants Pam and Jim to break up? I liked them better when I was wondering whether or not they would date, and even though I always hoped they would, now that they are, it feels like the show is missing something
28i loooved this episode.
29I loved this episode! It was classic Office humor, and well... Dwight in Second Life was just hilarious. My husband won't stop talking about Second Second Life.
30This season hasn't let me down yet... Except I'm in constant fear of something gowing awry with Jim and Pam! I loved that he bought her breakfast the morning after she spent all night working on the logo. Sigh...
31classic office!! loved it. although i liked having the hour simply b/c it meant an hour of the office, the show shines in the half hour format. with 30 mins, they write and edit to pack the most punch and very little is filler...which is what the hour longs usually had a lot of. this week's episode was very ensemble/heartwarming in the way office olympics was. nice to see the whole gang working together!! i also personally like that they set up this potential for a realistic jam conflict....i love these two together, but i'm excited to see them face some challenges (and make up afterwards! =P).
32kool-aid face was the most hilarious part of that episode!
33This episode was great. I never complained about the hour long episodes but I'm glad they're back to 30 minutes because it seem to flow much better. By the way, I actually liked their commercial.
34Buzz, I couldn't agree more; this was indeed a "pitch-perfect, classic Office" episode. I really don't like the extended 60 minute episodes and was getting worried about where this season was going. Not worried any more. This was wonderful--as was your recap!
35I can't believe you left out the Kit Kat Bar joke! The timing of that throughout the episode was perfect.
36I liked this episode but I still LOVE last weeks episode. I was getting used to the hour format..oh well
