The Office's Mindy Kaling to Write a Book "The Contents of My Purse"

Confession: I want to be best friends with Mindy Kaling. Besides playing one of my favorite characters on The Office (Kelly Kapoor), Mindy is also one of the only female writers for the show. Her Twitter account alone keeps me laughing on a regular basis. I still miss reading the amazing entries in her now-defunct shopping blog, but now I've got something to look forward to: Kaling has a book in the works called The Contents of My Purse.

According to Kaling, the book started as a book of essays but could evolve. She said, "Maybe I’ll just turn it into a Jon Krakauer piece about murder in Siberia and perilous adventure to find details about that. I don’t want to be boxed in."

Though I have mixed feelings about books written by celebs, I'd be willing to camp out in front of Barnes & Noble to get my hands on this one. Who's coming with me?
